Hi Joy, I'll have a scrumpy please (Zummerset of course). How's the weather over there? - it's been good here today after about three weeks of much needed rain. After living in Scotland I never thought I would be glad to see rain again. Friar |

Thank you, Lunar, for the loan of your thread. It is greatly appreciated, sometimes for a hiding place. A drink of nectar before retiring. :-) Joy |

Here it is, my friend Friar! I am very well, thank you. I hope you are well, too. Have been enjoying the tennis. Hewitt did well. :-) Joy |

I am well Joy. I'm not much of a tennis fan I'm afraid and I don't rate Hewitt as a person although he is a good player. I must admit to watching football & Aussie rules. |

I agree - good player, but ........ Was he going out with Kim Clisters at one time? I'm a Palace supporter (Crystal Palace FC). Methinks I shall ask sometime for a list of who's who amongst the refugees! nice to see you. What time is it there? It is right now 5.37pm :-) Joy |

Yes I think he was going out with Kim Clijsters at one time. I'm a Queen of the South fan and in the Aussie rules its the West Coast Eagles. It's quarter to one at the present but I'm on holiday tomorrow so I can have a long lie in. |

Sorry, I was called away to my dinner. There you go, we both support Eagles - one in England and one in Australia! :-) Joy |

I missed last night because I play darts twice a week (Tuesdays & Thursdays) and it can be close to midnight before I'm home. on Wednesdays I go to the LADS to do some research. I've got a film of Canonbie parish records at the moment so I'm quite busy trying to transcribe that. |

Where is Canonbie? My better half is online parish clerk for Trewen and Tresmeer in Cornwall. We fight over the computer at times! I've just sent you a message. :-) Joy |

Canonbie is in Dumfries-shire about a stone's throw from the English border. So far I've chased that side of the family from Dumfries-shire to Kirkcudbright (neighbouring county) and in the early 1800s back to Dumfries-shire again. Read your message - we will work on it. Ian |

Good morning Friar / Ian Nice to see you. Not so sunny today, but we'll be okay on our journey now that it has started properly! :-) Joy [ nearly sent this under a different name by mistake ! ] |

Hi Joy, Sorry to see on another thread that you woke up heavy hearted. I'm sure that everything will be o.k. - I get the impression that you're not the type to let that feeling linger on. I'm just about to have my dinner and then I'm going out to play darts - I'll probably be back in about 5 hours. Ian |

Hello Friar / Ian, that's kind of you. It'll pass .... See you later. Joy PS in my ''user name'':- ''bouncebackability'' - or the ''ability to recover after a setback, particularly in sport', which the dictionary says is regarded as having first been coined by Crystal Palace manager Iain Dowie. ..... :-) bouncing back! :-) Joy |
