Dawn, As you know, I'm in Milton Keynes (which is in Bucks by the way :), but know Biggleswade, Aspley Guise and Flitwick well - don't have any rellies there as far as I know though (would like to live in Aspley Guise, lovely place) ! My Balls may or may not have come from Biggleswade :S

Paul Its my 2nd cousin thats in Milton Keynes and I never put a county on his letters just the postcode. Only been to his parents house in Aspey so don't know the area. As for Biddleswade thats wehere my aunt and uncle were and my cousins grew up there. Uncle still there.

Paul, I wonder if your boss knows his family history? As far as I can remember off hand most of my Bates were from around Toddington, but I seem to remember a link to somewhere near Leighton Buzzard a few generations back. Carolyn

oooo I'd forgotten about this until I just saw Jim's thread. Jan, my Huckles are from Cardington (just outside Bedford). We should compare notes ?

No Reeves, no Mortimers, and no Fleets :( As for my Huckles... I can trace the direct line back to pre-1600 all in Cardington. I haven't traced every branch as yet, so it's possible some went to Cambridgeshore

Jan, My link is Mary Huckle b.1789, in Cardington, she married Thomas Smith. Her parents were George Huckle and Mary Summerfield. I've followed that line back about 5 more generations. All in Cardington. Looks like they moved on after 1800 though, by 1861 there's only one Huckle left that was born in Cardington. Paul
