just read on the teletext that some of those made homeless in London from the tornado have been rehoused by the council. Well for once they have moved quick. Wonder if its because this is very much in the public eye....... |

This is a horrible time of year for the homeless, not just the bad weather but the sheer loneliness they must feel. As they walk past shops all lit up with Christmas decorations, peoples houses ablaze with lights,when i sit watching the tv at night all snug in my cosy chair, i can't help but think that some poor soul is huddled in a doorway somewhere or on the pavement under carboard,i can't begin to imagine what it must be like for them. We are talking men, women and kids here, no upper or lower age limit and from all walks of life, It could happen to anyone, it could happen to you or one of yours. Shirley Ann. |

Luckily this winter so far has been relatively mild so a little easier for those homeless people, but still not at all acceptable in this day and age to have people with no homes. This problem is probably far worse now than say, 50 years ago, there would be tramps and gentlemen of the road, but most people knew someone who would squeeze them in to their house, till their fortunes changed. And this is progress! |

Spoke to Greg today and took some things to meet him in the city, but by the time I got there he had been moved on by the Police and was too far away for me to go there. Thanks Liz, I hope you catch up with Greg. I have 2 families in the centre for Christmas up to now, no doubt it will be full again by the new year im sad to say. I pop onto the board when i can, as between being at the centre and trying to get Christmas sorted for for my lot as well i don't seem to have any spare time. Shirley Ann. |
