What sad news, Heather, but it sounds as though your Dad was as blessed to have you and your family as you were to have him. I hope you find this comforting: Death is nothing at all. I have only slipped away into the next room. I am I, and you are you. Whatever we were to each other, that we still are. Call me by my old familiar name; speak to me in the easy way that you always used. Put no difference in your tone; wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was, let it be spoken without effect, without the trace of a shadow on it. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was; there is unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? Very sorry to hear this Heather , you have had a very bad time lately , do hope things will pick up for you.You are very lucky to have had such a wonderful Dad , I wish mine had been as nice , I wont go into details but I would love to have had a Dad that loved me as much as yours seems to have loved you, you were both very lucky to have each other, my thoughts are with you. |

Heather, My heart goes out to you, I too lost a loved one this week, my Grandma sadly died on Thursday afternoon, she was 90yrs old. Unfortunatley she was found collapsed in her home. Like your Dad she was a spritey wonderful person who loved life, she will be greatly missed. Her funeral is scheduled for this coming friday where her family and friends will celebrate her past life.
