Paul - totally useless friend here and you'll probably think I'm an imposter when I tell you there's no need to spend money on grand gestures. The only thing I can come up with is a champagne picnic in front of a log fire. It's too cold to have it outside unless you have a parrafin lamp? Forget the flowers, they're too overpriced and overblown (have a friend who's a florist and she tells us not to bother!!!). Oh dear, I sound too old for this Valentine stuff don't I? Really I'm not! Daisy, Thank you for a sensible reply :o) It really shouldn't all be about big presents should it ? I hope Sharon would agree that I'm not exactly a cheapskate, I just thought it would be nice to do something small and personal rather than chuck money at the problem so to speak. Now, just need to buy a house with a proper fireplace in the next 2 weeks... lol Paul x |

do her a 'basket full of all our love' buy a basket/fancy box and fill it with lots of different items of signicance each with a little tage telling her why you bought them e.g. 'your song' with a little lbael saying 'I love the way this song reminds me of...' a box of chocolates with a tag saying ' I love you more than you love chocolate' other thing sto put in your favurite photo of you two together framed a copy of her fave film/the first film you saw together I'll think of more..... |

Paul does she like gingerbread? One year I made gingerbread hearts and iced them for hubby, he thought it was fab! Didn't cost much financially but he appreciated the trouble I had gone to! This year we're going to Rome! Julie xxx |
