Good evening folks have come home from being out for dinner and as I took my tablet late to accomodate going out I'm now up to goodness knows when and will be RS tomorrow .I have been busy as we have to do our deck every year and as we didn't get home till November didn't have time before Xmas and the rest of the place was in a pretty bad way as we were away for 6 months and the prodigal one is not much of a housekeeper I can assure you so the spiders and cobbies werre running rampant thru the place and everything was yuk, so has taken all this time with pulling out the ensuite and putting in the pool and on Wednesday Tiger is putting ensuite back together or starting to at least, had a message on the phone while were out too from grandson saying 'Nanny can we come up for Easter just me and Dad cause we want to catch a fish' (he is fishing mad ) but have to tell him I havn't unravelled his fishing rod from his last fishing expedition Mike said 'Here your grandson did this so you can untangle it' LOL you ought to see it I will be at it for a month of sundays Lew Now re you saying' Slept in new bed last night and it was wonderful I promise piccies will follow' Lew please dear we don't want to see photos of new bed with peeps in it inquisitive we may be but not into porn thanks lol pmsl runs off to loo, as Lew made me wmsl. Way to go lew a re retiring I recomend it I did hairdressing for over thirty years and was sick of it but do miss the company and then I was in retail for ten years , and do miss that too but love the not having to get up early bit still do most of the time 7:30am but can stay in bed if I feel like it as before it was get up by the clock every day and always rush and getting to work was the worst bit as I used to travel 76 kms every day for about 12 months from one side of Melb to the other and that was harder than the job . Don't know if I told you this but I have made contact with a lady I've been trying to talk to for over 12 months now and we have so much to discuss as she is a Greening by marriage and we both have all the Greenings in common as my maiden name was Greening and there is a few of them. It's very exciting she gave the fh thing away for a while and she is thrilled to as now has new interest in it again and she actually told me where my cousin is I havnt seen him since his 21st he's in the UK so maybe I'll be able to catch up with him when I go over in 2007 or 2008 God willing. Mary good to hear the man came and fixed up the deposit for the van still be careful won't you re the rest of the money as every day there is some one on the tv getting conned one way or another our friends sold their car so they thought and the bloke came around with a cheque and gave them the cheque and said here is the deposit it was half the price, can my mate and I take it around the block and the car never came back and the cheque was no good even though it was bank cheq. so I'm paranoid now over things like this and you can't be too careful . Laurie there is heaps of things I'd like a look up for but can't get my act together right now so thanks for the offer and will have to leave it for now will send you PM too, We have people missing again including moi but can't seem to find the time to do all I want too and then I have these blasted sleep attacks and they mess up every days plans too , so hello to all not on here at the moment and do hope you are ok and I got a message from Andy everyone and sent answer back straight away and havn't heard back again still he gave me nothing at all about these people he wants to find so hope he gets back to me soon and let's us know who he is looking for. Finally feel a little tired girls and boys oh nearly forgot for those coming to Yarrawonga on the Friday night picked up our tickets for dinner and the show tonight while there , so we have to be there at 6 pm please Friday the 28th of April I also do have two spare tickets if someone wants to come that didn't think they would be able too, but need to know now as other wise will resell them. Must go now back to talk again tomorrow I hope . Nearly forgot to say bye Jude a have a lovely time in the uk just in case I forget before you go , Love Lara |

Morning Wattlers, another lovely day in Melbourne and the forecast for the next week is good too damn it, and little old me will be freezing my butt off in the UK. Ahh the sacrifices we make for our children...lol Put a new string to my bow last night, bought some hair clippers and gave hubby a no4. It was hysterical,my daughter was in stitches and giving some not very helpful instructions and poor hubby was not very confident with my abilities. I thought I did a pretty good job, I can straighten up the back when it grows a bit ....pmsl Lew you must be glad to see the back of the boxes, you have done well. We still have 2 boxes downstairs that have been there for 19yrs now, I'm too frightened to look whats in there...figure if we haven't missed that stuff by now we dont need it. Back to work will pop in again later Jude2 |

Morning all.. Another fine day,,bugger.. Lara nice to see you back and sorry about the tablet. Hope you eventually got some sleep..Dont worry about the payment for the caravan as they are paying cash...LOL I think they want to play with the van over the Easter break and if they had given me a cheque I told them they would have to wait for the cheque to be cleared by the bank before they could have the van..This way they can have the van today and take it home...Which I want..Off to look at cars as soon as the van goes as we want to get rid of the 4wd as well as we dont need it any more.. lew I am with Lara when it comes to retirement.. I have worked all my life and have never regretted stopping.. We have had a great time since and its nice to be free to do what you want..We have been retired 10 years now and we have had a fantastic time. Go girl go... Better go and do some work.. back later .. Luv. Mary xxx |

Morning all Well we have a cool but sunny day today, rained most of last night. Been busy unpacking things from girls camps and making sure clothes are all washed and have started getting clothes together for our trip. When into town this morning and bought another pair of jeans, that fit better lol. I was going to hold of and buy a new pair when I finish losing the weight that I want to, but I thought I can pass them to David when these ones get too loose and I can buy another new pair hee hee. Jude 2 glad to hear that we should have nice weather for our trip, someone asked me if I was going to the Cattery to watch the game on Saturday, my response was bugger we will be out Geelong way on Sunday, not Saturday pmsl. Hope you have a nice trip also, would be good to catch up with the children. Tony thanks for all those links, will be enough to keep me going for ages. Your Grandson sounds like a chip off the old block, I always called my Grandfather Pop when he was alive and I still call my Grandmother Nan. My children also call Nan, Nan. She wouldnt have it any other way as Gran nan makes her sound too hold. bless her, she is only 90 in July. My parents also get called Nan and Pop from my children. Mary good news on the van, you wont know yourself when you buy a small car, we are hiring a small 4 cylinder when we are in Vic, so it will be different from driving our big Ford Falcon. Lew congrats on retiring or should I say being a woman of leisure for at least 6 months, who knows you might like it sooo much you may not want to go back to work. Looking forward to the piccies of the new house. Hello to all who I havent mentioned, hope everyone is well and if I dont catch up with you before you vacate this place for Easter and before I disappear for my break away, I hope Easter bunny comes and you all have a wonderful time with family and friends. P.S. Lara you popped in while I was typing, good luck with getting a winner with the Tattslotto, sending positive winning thoughts 'Money Money Money' hope it helps lol. Cheers Sue |

Hi Wattlers I've been a bit busy the last few days so have only just caught up on all the posts. Caravans sold, retirement, gardening, packing for UK trip, unpacking boxes.....my god you are a busy lot. It's a pity the rain dancing hasn't worked though. But keep trying, I'm sure it will work eventually. My sciatica has eased considerably which alowed me to do some re-potting of house plants on Monday. I could almost hear the poor little things cry out for joy, it was so long since they had been done. Spent a wonderful day on Sunday with my nephew, his fiancee and his youngest daughter. She lives in Mackay and this was my first meeting with her. We got talking about families and relatives and my nephew comes up with the info that he is distantly related to Fletcher Christian. It is a rather fine thread along my ex-brother in laws line but can I still claim it as a convict relative :o)???? I'm feeling left out of things with all you lot and your famous rels heee heee. I hope you are all fit and happy and enjoying your selves. I am off to potter in the garden and enjoy the autumn sunshine. Big hugs and ~~waves to all. love Trifley Queen of the Nile |

Well after all the excitement of announcing my retirement, I'm now devastated. My hubby has just phoned to tell me that one of the workmen has just run over my 18 year old cat named Chester and Terry has had to shoot him. I feel gutted! He was too good a friend and companion to have died that way. I may be off the air for a little while, as I feel too sad to chat. Lew Lew xxx :-( |

Afternoon Wattlers, Lew Lew my condolences on the loss of Chester, nothing I can say will make a difference but sending you lots of hugs. Only back at work today, and you lot have been sooo chatty as usual. Must be the week for washing windows/fly screens and cob webs Lara, I did all mine yesterday all b****y 20 of them! Who invented georgian thingy paned windows? I would like to know so they can tell me easy way to clean them. Mary congrats on selling the van, good luck with the car, I'm sure you wont have any problems selling it , judging by the amount of people who want them for towing, its a pity you couldn't have done a 'towing package' and sold them both together lol. Cottage is coming along fine if I can persuade son to help I'll put a couple of photos on ASL I'll let you know if it works! We pulled down the eyesore sun room last weekend and over easter weekend are rebuilding the verandah and decking, plus getting rid of the hardie plank and replacing with weatherboards. (well the front anyway we only have 4 days) I love how the older locals give us advice and encouragement on their daily walks - can't get any to lend a hand though - lol. I have a domino kitchen - had to pull everything out to lay the new floor and now everything is just sitting in place - have to keep telling everyone not to lean on anything. Well Jude 2 if I'm not too late - have a great trip and make sure you contribute to the economy by visiting all the shops! Safe trip. Well I'm off home, wave and a hug to everyone catch you tomorrow jude 3 |
