Arvo Wattlers Hi Tony....I hope some of Barbs luck rubs off on us all for Saturday Fingers XXX Gwenda.........I like using 'WORD' too. Mark (son) has a lap top and it isn't on his either. I wonder why? Is it possible to put it on a new lap top if I have the original disc? Perhaps Tony knows?? I don't, I'm just a (_?_) as far as putas go. Couldn't resist using one of the emoticons ha ha. Se y'all later. Big wave. love Trifley |

Just a quick visit. I just checked my 'Bloody ad' thread. I, obviously, don't have the skills to run a good, controversial thread. Only 19 posts ............and some of them were from ME! Where is Rebs when you need her? Trifley |

Hi Wattlers A friend passed this on to me and I am passing it on to all of you. A few words of wisdom. love Trifley 1. Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully. 2. Marry a man/woman you love to talk to. As you get older their conversational skills will be as important as any others. 3. Don't believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want. 4. When you say, 'I love you,' mean it. 5. When you say, 'I'm sorry,' look the person in the eye. 6. Be engaged at least six months before you get married. 7. Believe in love at first sight. 8. Never laugh at anyone's dreams. People who don't have dreams don't have much. 9. Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it's the only way to live life completely. 10. In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling. 11. Don't judge people by their relatives. 12. Talk slowly but think quickly. 13. When someone asks you a question you don't want to answer, smile and ask, “Why do you want to know”? 14. Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk. 15. Say 'bless you' when you hear someone sneeze. 16. When you lose, don't lose the lesson. 17. Remember the three R's: Respect for self; Respect for others; and Responsibility for all your actions. 18. Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship. 19. When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it. 20. Smile when picking up the phone. The caller will hear it in your voice. 21. Spend some time alone. |

Hi Tony email received. By this time next week we'll probably all be swanning around in some swank resort with our winnings!! GLad your tests went OK Jude. Good news about the vacuuming etc!! I thought you had to sleep with the head of the bed raised if you had a hiatus hernia - did he tell you that? It's to stop reflux. Gold Lotto in Qld always gets abbreviated to 'goloddo' - we Queenslanders can't talk proper you know! How are you Joodles? Hope today went OK. I guess you will be talking to us again after you've had something to eat. The blokes are still here shoving stuff around inside the ceiling. They have some of the tiles off the roof at the moment and it's very overcast so it will probably bucket down any minute and we'll think we're in Innisfail. Those poor wretches up there - how do you start all over again? Hi Babs - pop in and say hello to us - we like visitors in Oz. We even have T.V. ads begging people to come here!! We will be in Brisbane tomorrow - my daughter Katherine is in the middle of exams but she regarded M I L as her Grandma and in fact M I L was her only surviving Grandparent so she is feeling the loss and has time off her exam schedule to attend the funeral. Catch you all later XX Anna |

Sorry guys - I didnt mean to frighten you with my blood tests, I was really just feeling sorry for myself having to go without breakfast. Blood tests (I asked for them myself) were just for the usual diabetic, cholesterol, kidneys, liver etc. The Drs these days rarely suggest this. I also had an ultra sound on the veins in my legs (my choice again) - after that scare at xmas when my legs swelled up. As it happened, I could have both tests done in the same lot of buildings in Penrith. Sorry to disappoint you - but I crawled into Maccas for brekky (mainly coz I wanted to use the loo) lol I'd already had a panicked txt from Laurie, and while I was in the car about to drive off - her sister rang up with strict instructions to find out what was wrong (and let Laurie know). Awwww - sorry Anna hope the funeral goes well tomorrow. I've been thinking that if my ex wants me to, I would go to Perth and help sort things out with my MIL's estate, but he's on the road to Perth - was in Sth Oz this morning. Have to ask my daughters to pass on the msg. More than likely he will refuse my offer - but at least the thought was there. I felt it was the least I could do for my ex MIL. Poor ole thing. Oh Jude3 YV - for goodness sake take notice of the Dr. I have had 3 hernia ops and one was definitely caused by me stubbornly trying to drag a chest of drawers upstairs by myself. Its just not worth it. Have a good evening all Jood |

Thanks Tassie - got the email. Re laptop-v-big pc. (Desktop) I have a Desktop, small lappy and bigger lappy. I hate typing on the small lappy unless I am away somewhere, when I think its the best thing since sliced bread. It is extremely light, and very compact. The bigger lappy I got at xmas. The screen is huge and its comfortable on the eye. You type a different way, by resting your wrists on the front panels. What I like about the big lappy (and small one) - is doing away with the huge hard drive on the floor. I'd have to say the desktop was the most comfortable, but its great to have backups. Jood |

Lara, will you come and hold my hand when I buy it? I've never done this before (and I don't have a laptop so we'll need to scan it into your computer to send to everyone!) Lew Lew, I had a money spider land on my arm when I was lying in bed one day and it BIT me. I had a small lump for weeks and weeks. Joodles, only missed breakfast! That's nothing........:) (The nurse always gave me black jelly beans) Good thing to get all the tests up to date. I must write myself a note.......... Gwenda, it is cold isn't it. That fire is looming closer and closer. Got to get the chimney cleaned. grand d has learnt to say her own name, Mia, except she says Me, me!!!! I forsee some problems LOL Hugs to all Vonny |

Just thought I would add this from my friends in Cairns re Cyclone Harry 'John spent all Sunday afternoon clearing the exterior of the big pot plants, hanging baskets, outdoor living furniture and barring up the big garage roller door. There are three long metal bars which can be bolted on the inside of the door and then we put mattresses against the door on the inside and backed the cars up against them as in the event of a direct hit garage doors can blow in. John prepared the battery operated radio, got out the hurricane lantern and kerosene lamp and prepared them for action and filled containers and the bath with water in preparation for the worst. By the time we went to bed at night we knew that the cyclone was going to cross the coast somewhere near Innisfail or Mission Beach and that we would be in the area of destructive winds. By 4 am the winds were whistling around bending the palms and tree branches. The electricity had gone out and it was extremely hot and humid, made worse by the fact that the whole house was closed up. We were very thankful for our gas cook top as this enabled us to boil water for a cuppa and all we could do was sit tight and listen to the ABC which was running a continuous report on cyclone warnings and talking to people all over the area as to what was happening. The cyclone crossed the coast just south of Innisfail at a place called Cowley Beach but with 250km winds Innisfail was devastated with every second house sustaining damage and the banana and cane crops being laid flat. It is bad enough to lose your roof but then the rain poured into the houses and you can imagine the result. By about 10am the cyclone had moved up to the tableland where it continued to wreak havoc as it sped on in a westerly direction. At this point everything became deadly still down here and the heat and humidity were oppressive. We were perspiring just sitting and not doing a thing. Around about 2pm the landline phone went out of action and we couldn't get a signal on the mobile either. Without electricity and the use of all the communication props - telephone, TV and Computer, fans etc. we felt that it was a very long day and evening, but we were thankful for our hurricane lantern and gas stove. We were not game to complain about our small inconvenience when we knew about people without homes just 70km away. Our neighbour has a generator and John helped her to get it set up to maintain her refrigeration. When her freezer was ok she lent the generator to our neighbour on the other side who also had a freezer that was gradually defrosting. We only have a small freezer on top of the fridge and it seemed to maintain what coolness it had for a long time, probably because we didn't open the door. Around about 5pm the telephone came on line again and just as I was preparing to get the evening meal the lights came on. So life returned to normal.' |

Vonny - that was a very interesting story of your friends misfortune in the cyclone. Hey - the THOUGHT of missing breakfast is actually far worse than actually missing it!!!!! I didnt eat till about 10.30am - I could have stretched it further if I wanted to! When I came on line today - I was reading from the beginning instead of the end in error, - and here was Laurie talking away - and Rebs - and I thought heavens what have I missed .................... then the penny dropped - it was way back in February !!! Im trying desperately to fight off a cold. Who is passing all these viruses around pmsl Jood |

Morning Wattlers, It has taken me ages to read through pages and pages of wattle thread. I have been working night shift this week. And i don't find this easy. All i do is work, sleep, worry about how much sleep i havn't had, winge and moan, lol. Oh and eat...... I can't forget that important part, always take lots of naughty food to work to keep me going in the early hours of the morning. It is amazing how much of a boost it gives the energy levels. Now am back on normal shifts must remember that i don't need that much energy boost he he. Trifley, I when my children were younger, my son could find special treat food no matter where i put it......until i took to hiding it in HIS wardrobe...never found it there lol. We still laugh about this. Am i too late to join the tatts lotto???????? Please.....Mmmmmm, if we won .........then i could tell the boss what to do with night shift :-))). Ok best get busy and do some of that nasty h**** w***, that also doesn't get priority when i do nights lol. Take care, Wilson |

Good Morning Wattlers We have a lovely sunny day here today. Got the Dr this afternoon for my flu jab and Tamika came home last night with forms from the Army Cadets which had to be filled in. One form is for a Dr to fill in so I rang this morning and got her in the same time as my appointment which is good. Lara I heard on the news that an elderly man died from a heart attack in one of the caravan parks affected by the Cyclone, they didnt mention the name of the park but I believe it was just below Innisfail. I couldnt remember where you said you go, if it is the same one, the park looked a mess. Mary bet you will be glad to get home and unwind from your holiday. Tony if we get many more wanting to join Wattlelotto we may be able to have 2 tickets each week, give us double chance of winning :-) That way if one person forgets we still have a chance with the ticket bought from the other person. Just a thought. Hello to all I havent mentioned, hope you are enjoying your day, with whatever you are doing. I am going to try and decipher a death record I had sent to me showing death details of 2 of my G-G Grandparents. Cheers Sue |

Morning All and hope today finds you all happy and well. Bit cooler here in Mudgee today and overcast. Just wish it would rain. Lara, you have certainly been spending a heap of time in that pool. You'll end up all pruney, lol. Anyway, good for you. Tony, you might have to do a definite list of those who have joined Wattlelotto, just so there's no confusion. Vonny, I'm sorry if money spider bit you. Mine is now living happy in a pot plant. Hope all goes well for you today, Anna. Big Hugs (((O))) Chat again soon, Lew Lew xxx |
