Afternoon Wattlers, Best wishes to your Mum Tony , for a speedy recovery. Thank you for the birthday wishes Lara and Jood, have been spoilt already -Ken has bought us tickets on the Silver Clipper Dinner flight - Gooney Bird DC3. I'm soooo excited. It goes from essendon airport and flies around the bay on a 70 minute flight while we are served dinner and wines. Cocktail wear recommended. With only 28 passengers and beautiful Melbourne and the bay as a back drop roll on Saturday week! Loved the opening ceremony got quite teary and patriotic - Melbourne ,the Yarra and the 'G' looked exceptional. We are going to watch the road race for cycling next weekend (free venue!) but apart from that have to make do with the tele. Rebs I'm recommending some soothing music, maybe some incense or oil burners , nice cup of peppermint tea (lol) or some of Laras' baileys (1/2 a bottle maybe), or maybe a half dozen pints of guinesss, you have had a couple of stressful weeks, especially the last few days - you need to chill out and relax girl or you are going to blow a gasket! lol. Although tomorrow being St Pats your likely going to see little green men again - I still haven't been able to 'see 'them by the way. HRH lLew Lew make sure you do a 'royal' deal on your furniture and they treat you as they would her maj. lol Wilson isn't coming back from holdays to w**k just the pits, Kens usual line is 'oh well, one day closer to retirement' followed by a big sigh -( for maximum effect.) Well must away , I'll try to pop back in later. Judy 3 YV ( queen of the sauvignon blanc) |

G'day Wattlers A special birthday hug for judyYv. I'm green with envy......a flight in a DC3 and dinner over Melbourne....sounds like a fantastic gift. Hope you have a wonderful time. Tony....sorry to hear about your mum. Good thoughts and lots of healing hugs to her. Anna......hope your MIL is feeling ok. Sending hugs and thoughts to her too. Joodles......a funeral in Nowra? Did I miss a death? Sorry if it was someone close. Drive carefully. Hi Devely...... I find echinacea and garlic work wonders for colds and sniffles. Although I prefer to have the garlic wrapped around a nice piece of steak or a few king prawns ha ha. Give them a try.....can't hurt :o) Rebs.....this tree stuff is a real bitch at times isn't it? I have a distant cousin who gets so frustrated with it she keeps threatening to take up golf! I only put basic minimum on GR tree in case I find a peep I want to share with. I keep all my detailed info on my own tree here at home. I don't trust the GR site..........it might hic cup and lose all my stuff. Not that I'm a control freak or anything.........I just like to be in con.........uuummm....in char.............well you know :p) I'm also going to adjust the name of one of my rels. 1820 must have been a VERY good year for naming boys William. There must have been hundreds of William Smith's born that year. Most of my hot matches are for him and I'm sick of it. I think I'll change his first given name to Trifle........that'll stop em ha ha. I didn't watch the opening last night. I had a visit from nephew & partner.......... much more interesting. Then I watched Hugh Laurie in 'House'. Love that show. You see....there is a life outside the games! Have a good day everyone and remember......'Nil bastardum carborundom'. Big wave and hugs to all the Wonderful, Waffling Wattlers. Luv Pharaoh Trifley Queen of the Nile |

Hello Wattley Crew Oh didn't we have a lovely time last night playing ladies and gentlemen! It quite went to my head. Never mind, one day a rooster, next day a feather duster. That's life. Tony - sending positive thoughts to your Mum - I hope she makes a good recovery. She is lucky to have a caring family to give her support. Jude 3 - have a happy birthday and the dinner flight sounds superb! Enjoy! Have a great day shopping tomorrow Lew - you can drop that Princess bit now - party's over! Some people do have delusions of grandeur!! I'm not game to talk to you Reb - I'll probably get my head snapped off. What a bummer - I'd be hopping mad if I were you. Devly - happy birthday to David - hope he has recovered from his indisposition. My MIL is recovering - very uncomfortable which is to be expected. We're still waiting for pathology results. Hi to everyone else - anyone watching the games? Have been busy today so have not even seen 5 minutes of it. Catch you later Anna |

Hi Wattlers, an ever-expanding gang I see, wonderful, I AM here off and on ( reading and waving), had a busy couple of weeks and just got back from another flying trip to South Gippsland as Dad turned 88 and some business in Melb. Also co-ordinating newly found second cousin with third cuz going to UK in late April – printing off relevant census stuff and bmd’s etc etc. Got back at 6pm last night and by 8.30 was able to collapse with g o w (glass of wine) and watch Games Opening (while reading mail and last few days papers, catching up with DD 14 and trying to spot the two people I knew were in the ceremony!!! I LOVED the DUCK!!! Have been a Leunig fan for ages. Found it all very subtle and delightful. Went to bed before Delta but heard she was good. The fireworks from the tops of buildings were wonderful ! To Vonny will pm you re coffee!!! To Tony, sorry to hear about your Mum, fingers crossed. Kongwak and Inverloch looked great this week. To Lara, I havn’t forgotten about Yarrawonga, will get in touch by pm this week to nail down details. Isn’t the rain fabulous! I was getting sick of the heat. To everyone else, gosh I have a few giggles at my desk, this is a great group of very funny people, I can’t always contribute but always know – I am here watching (reading, waving- royally-) Lady Heather of Albury |

Evening All Well it is a wet cold day today. David had today off work as well, gastro had stopped but felt real s**t. So he went to Dr and got a certificate for work and while we was there I booked an appointment next week for my flu jab, I am not due for pneumonia yet. We did make it out for tea, to a little but nice Chinese shop. Then I stopped at a Cheesecake Shop on way home for a treat for David, probably wont do much for my diet but a treat now and then wont hurt. I cant remember who mentioned about garlic etc for colds. I do like garlic and with my diet I have skinless chicken boiled, I can put whatever I like in the water to spice the chicken up but not thicken it, so I have been putting Curry and Garlic in to the water. I was going to get on here and leave a message today, but we had a big thunderstorm, I got to read all the goings on but didnt get time to reply, we shut down the putas for safety, and after the storm, my Mum ran and asked if we could go and look at their video as they think the storm may have blew it up, it doesnt work any more. David found that a fuse was blown so crossing fingers that may be all thats wrong. Jude 3 What a lovely birthday present, Davids present started out a secret, as our trip to see his Dad at Easter is his present, but he worked out I was up to something when I started asking about how many days he gets off work for Easter, so it ended up not a secret. David (Disco Dave) said to say thanks to the ones that wished him happy Birthday and he would like to pass on birthday wishes to Judy 3 . I watched the games tonight I was good to see all our medal winners so far, But Ohh dear if only Thorpie was in the relay :-(( Tony sending positive thoughts to you, and hope your Mum gets better soon. Well David is back to work tomorrow and has a 4.30 get up time so I had better finish now and go to bed so he can get a birthday cuddle :-)))) Catch you all Tomorrow. Cheers Sue |

Go maire tú lá Naomh Pádraig. Cead Míle Fáilte *waves to Laurie who made a flying visit* Jude, the old wattle thread is simply in your computer memory. If you try and add to it you'll just get a message coming up saying there are no replies for this thread. However, if peeps do want it you can start another thread and cut'n paste the old one onto that. Hardly seems worth the effort though since the Wattle Club mk II has come such along way. Sláinte!!
