Morning everyone, beautiful blue sky in Melb this morning but a bit chilly. Vonny, sorry to hear about your friend It really upset me to hear about little Sophie on the news last night, the poor kid has had enough and now her parents have to go through this on top of what they are already copeing with, it just isn't right. I'd hate to be the person who did this when they catch up with them. As for the reporters at the mine,I know they have a job to do but they are a pack of vultures. Although we had a laugh last night, channel 7 have been doing the news and today tonight live from the mine all week and now its the weekend and hopefully the guys will be freed. The reporters who have had to do their shows standing in the rain and cold all week will probably not be there to see the rescue..he he Especially the Noami Whatsit ...dont like her. Sooo......was there really skinny dipping in Lara's pool????? The mighty Cats weren't so mighty last night, lost by 1 gaol, so close. I can see they need me to be there.... Going to wrestle with the supermarket trolly now, back later Jude2 Joodles where are you??? |

Morning All and a special hello to Vonny. Hope you're okay. Sorry to hear about your friend. Boy, sometimes life's a s**t!!! Glorious day in Mudgee today and we're off to 'play' in the garden. Finally had a sleep-in this morning, after the final blind was installed yesterday and the sun didn't smack me in the fact at 6.00am! What you mean, Lara, ringleader! I'm more the wallflower type, sitting quietly in the corner, just innocently watching the goings on, pmsl. Don't you listen to Lara, Trifley. She's just jealous of you having Nefer and the brothers. ~~~waving to all~~~~ Av a good un. Lew Lew xxx |

Oh hello Jude 2, me thinks I will call you Flakey Jude from now on! Tony, just had a look at your photos. Obviously, you and me spend too much time on our computers, lol. Do you use Photoshop? I do sometimes, but prefer Corel PhotoPaint and PhotoDraw. Hey, Lara, they've been advertising some new resort in Yarrawonga on our local radio!!??? We have a district near Mudgee called Yarrawonga, so I wonder if they're confused, lol. Oops, must go and visit the nursery now. More plants await and we're also going to put in some lovely fruit trees, so maybe we'll have a little bit of fresh fruit for the Mudgee Meet. There'll definitely be limes for the margaritas!!!! Morning Wakkles. As Jude said, nice sunny morning in Melb. or it was, but grey clouds moving in, and ol sol trying to find its way through the blue openings. Lew. I use Adobe Photo deluxe, and its a good program for doctoring photo's....lol Also use it to repair old, cracked, and damaged pic's. Brings them back to new. Youngest daughter Sarah plays Netball today ( comp ) so Barb and i take her each Saturday at 1:00pm and cheer her team on. They are 2nd on the Ladder at the moment, and she plays G.A ( Goal attack ).......GS ( Goal shooter )....and occasionally Centre. I like to see her involved in sports, as i did with my other girls......Tennis & Netball. Then off to help eldest daughter find an apartment/Flat as her and hubbie have gone separate ways. Have always insisted with all my girls, that if your not happy, then get out. It's your life.( end of story ) Lara.....Barb ( the Bar Code Queen )is saving her pocket money, and it wont be long till we are back up to Shepparton ( SPC warehouse )....lol Rebs.Good luck for to-morrow mate ( Pies & Blues ) Always a good game between these two clubs, and the Blues will lift, if only on adrenalin, but forgive me if i don't speak to you after the game.( IF ) I will be expecting heaps of flack....so please don't disappoint me......LOL I have left the Yarrawonga meet.. GC Photo board open, if anyone else wants to add Piccies to it.? Sun coming out again, so must go rake the leaves and put them in Compost for Vegie garden this summer. Av a good un. Tony Oz....:>)) |

Good morning Wattlers, a lovely crisp, clear day on Botany Bay - just a few bits of cottonwool in the pretty blue sky. Lots of little boats out near the heads, got the word yesterday - little old Greek man, down on the beach fishing - told me that since they stopped the commercial fishing in the Bay there are fish just begging to get on your hook! Three yellow giraffes with their heads up high - and they are all pushed down the end - so another ship due in soon I would say. Hope your Ok this morning Von, tell John from us he has instructions to look after you. I got over the stumble - still not happy Jan, but I didn't throw the Beetsons in the bin. Fingers crossed that I wont have to - but still, the path on the other option does seem to be straight forward. Can see the path back two generations on NSW bmd's and a connect in the UK so apart from more certs it wont be too bad. I worked out that if I have to disown the Beetsons thats 13 NSW certs I didn't need to buy (but thats our secet) . . . . Jude 2 . . . dont underestimate the journos . . . they will be there - but I was pleased to hear that they have organised them and only one camera will be allowed to film the rescue in its last stages, so all networks will have the same pics. Poor buggers, they would hate to be seen in everyones livingroom after so long without a bathroom. Brings back memories of 'Tracey' Ray and I were volunteers out at Mascot, assisting the evacuees as they arrived, the cameramen were right in their faces as they got off the planes. They reported about the hysteria, but they caused some of it - we saw lots of women, because of the stress and everything had started their periods, and of course had no protection. Some improvement in Sophie this morning, the Dr said on the news that the odds are in her favour to survive this horrible ordeal, and least the little petal when she is awake wont be frightened of being in hospital. Poor mum and Dad - how their hearts must be aching. Joodles is around, we have swapped half a dozen or so emails this morning re our family connection - shes keeping busy! Lew, I was thinking of coming out for a drive one day next week, to visit lady bump, maybe we could do coffee ?? I will give her a call later and see what day suits her and let you know. Whats this with Wakkles Tony, are you making up new words to call us Yakkers or did the fingers have a slipup ??? Please explain ??? The wonders of modern technology . . . Rays dad was too sick to come to our wedding, but I got him there, got the proof - hes in the photos !! lol Anyway, the floor is clear of papers so I can go suck up the paper dregs, talk to you all later - cheers luv Laurie |

Good Morning Wattlers Minding grandson today so that will keep me busy! Cannot believe what has happened to little Sophie. How can that poor family face another set back. It's not fair. And here's hoping the miners get out soon. I'm glad they've worked out some protocol for the media - as if those poor blokes would want the media in their face after all they've been through. And the question the press always ask no matter what the circumstances 'How do you feel?' I'd like a dollar for everytime I've heard a media rep ask that question in the most inappropriate circumstances. I hope they leave the families alone as well - I don't think I could have been as polite as they have been to the media. Vonny - thinking of you at this sad time. Cherish the memories and be glad there is no more suffering. A very sombre post today - hope the news is all better tomorrow. Loved the photo Tony! Just shows you that you can't believe any thing you hear and also not much of anything you see! May be back later XX Anna |

Afternoon all Well it started off a nice day but it has turned overcast, threatening to rain. We had a bit of a news story on the 2 miners on our local radio this morning which made me laugh, as you have all heard they are quite a comical pair and they asked that when they walk out of the mine and get into the ambo, if it was possible for the ambulance to drive away from the mine and up the main street with their sirens blasting away lol. Good news on sophie hope she continues to recover, that poor family, you would feel like wrapping her in cottonwool and not letting her out of you sight after not one but 2 bad accidents. Another story which has been in our local news I want to know what your thoughts are. A 15 y/o who works at the local Coles supermarket while collecting trolleys the night before last, found an opened purse sitting in one of the trollleys, and noticed it had money in it, he immediately took it to the office where they discovered it had $5000 in it. when asked about it he said he handed it in as that was how he was brought up. Well in the paper today it had a small story on the event and the boy was given a $50.00 voucher from Coles for his honesty. the woman was reunited with her purse and contents and she gave the boy a reward, which was only right. The reward he go from her for his honesty of handing in the purse was $10.00 Now I though that amount was pathetic, am I greedy or do you think she could have given a bit more than that? Really doesnt give any incentive to the young kids of today to do the right thing when they hear a story like this. Cheers Sue |

Good afternoon all , was a nice sunny day a minute ago but sun seems to have disappeared behind a cloud or sumpin its a bit chilly with our it, How does the garden look Lew?Is it all done yet or still a work in progress like mine I seem to have an interest back in mine again it was so disheartning coming home to things all dead and dying like some that not only cost a fortune but were like family wisteria, standard gardenia, which was lovely and a walking iris, normal gardenia and three rhodos and azaelias which was simply gorgeous all dead because someone who was living here rent free would not water them B****R , going to buy only ornamental grasses and drought resistant plants like Yukkas flax etc , will be back later have to eat starving LOLlove Lara |

Devily, what goes around comes around as they say ....something good will happen for that young man. Rake Boy you bought back memories of when we lived in Blackburn, we had a huge liquid amber on the fence line at the front of the house and I was forever trying to rake the leaves up but the wind always blew them back faster than I could rake. When OH built a front fence I made him build it around the tree. That way I figured the tree was the councils problem. Drove past there yesterday and there are leaves all over the place. Did the groceries this morning and am getting really p****d off at the stores that are replacing all the regular brands with their own brand goods....I will go without rather than buy some of that stuff, you have no idea where it comes from. Bought OH his bananas he cant live without, hope he enjoys them at $11.99 a kg Well the ironing awaits....back later Jude2 |

Ooo Flakey Jude, that is expensive for bananas. At Woolies today they were $8..99 per kg, very green and no bigger than your hand!! Why do they bother! Now, as I get a little confused, can someone do a list of Wattlers, their partners and where they come from? I leave this in the hands of the experts. I am Lewella, my husband is Terry and we come from Mudgee NSW! Lew Lew xxx |

HI back again just wanted to relay a story I heard the end of yesterday on the John Laws show this is re sort of your story Sue, a young man rang John and said Hello MR Laws I'm the person who found the Jewellery, I had missed the person apparently an elderly lady a friend of John Laws Family had rung him and said she had lost a bag full of jewellery and hoped someone had found it. This young man had, he said he opened it and looked inside there was noones name in or on the bag so he rang the police who came around to his house and then told him that the jewellery was worth about $200,000 no kidding she was walking around with that much jewellery he said 'omg my legs started to shake Mr Laws ' he said he had just met the woman but didnt mention that she gave him any reward, but John Laws said well I said I would give a reward to the person who found it so hang on the phone and I'll give you something maybe money maybe something else so there are exeptionally honest people around nice to know and if this woman didn't give him a couple thousand she doesn't deserve to have it back lol Also heard that Sophie is out of ICU and she is stable God bless ' Laurie did you find your people in the cemetery here at all when you went looking please might go and have look tomorrow if not to cold here otherwise, for you , Saying one for the miners too boy they will rich people when this is over just hope it doesn't leave them with PTSD a friend of mine got buried in a trench and had to be dug out and has never gotten over it he still has nightmares etc and drinks too much because of the stress but also won't do anything about treatment either' |
