I just bet LOL In Canada it's against the law to not pay time & 1/2 if you work more than 40 hours a week unless your management salary. Daughter is not management so the co- is ripping them off. Then they try to tell her it's the nature of the business. Then they bitch if she's 15 minutes late in the morning. Keep trying to tell her to get her portfolio ready and look elsewhere. Graphic designers are in great demand and paid well.

Oh I know how she feels ! it's only recetly that I've started getting payment for overtime although we've been paid for being on call for a few years. I probably only claim for about half of what I work though, and although I get paid for being on call one week in 3, I'm always available the other weekes anyway, and I'm the team leader, so whoever is on call will call me if they need to escalate any prblems

at my age figure I deserve weekends. Daughter is a graphic designer for an advert co. and works tons of overtime. Only thing is she doesn't get compensated for it, no extra pay or time off.

enjoy it ? not so bad if you get every weekend off, I don't very often get a completey free weekend

that happens a lot. I have cousins all over Canada now, they all started out in New Brunswick and it's a big big family so now their all over the place. At least with genealogy I'm keeping track of some of them. LOL

I work in IT support. I have to shut some servers down tomorrow, as the datacetre is being powered down for electrical maintenance. I'm on call all weekend too, and will be spending most of Sunday afternoon restarting all the servers. Not much of a weekend !

okay now I can figure that out. Keep reading the maps etc to get bearings on the UK, when I started ancestry searches lead me to Warwickshire. Might come over some day to see it for myself.
