Personally, I find it offensive that someone found the song offensive! That's because a fortnight ago, my brothers and I took our Mum to Belgium, to visit the war grave of my Great Uncle ALFIE! There, I've mentioned the name again. Perhaps I'm being petty now, but for goodness' sake .......... it's not as if it's preaching violence or anything.
