Mr Longman As your unofficial PA, (until you advertise the job properly under fair and open competition) I advise you to have a contingency plan just in case the unexpected happens. Unfortunately, I realise that there were only 3 worthy applicants (a poor showing indeed). It may be in your best interests if you have both of the runners-up on standby (by the phone or perhaps at the station) until you are fully booked in to your accomodation. It will also give them a glimmer of hope that they could still be in the running and therefore will not dampen their weekend. Mr Longman you can be assured that by the time of your next 'meet', that I will have drafted up a questionnaire/application form that will meet your exacting standards. You can be certain that any future applicants will be put through their paces. Lastly I would like to congratualte Maz on her success and commiserate with the runners up. Dan, I know only too well how teenage boys minds work and process things! If there is a grammatical error tuff! Just say there is an error next time to save the crossed wires. English has always been my worst subject and it is compleatly illogical, it's a wonder anyone can learn to read and write in this country. Having dyslexia doesn't help either, the only good thing is I can read mirrior writing easily and read gobble de gook. X
