No, I'm sorry but I don't think its fair on the children to have two same sex parents. Just my opinion and I don't mean to offend anyone. Jackie. |

its a difficult one, there are a lot of children out there needing loving parents, so part of me says yes, just because a couple is of the same sex, it makes no difference to the love they have for the child or their abilities as parents. However another smallpart of me says 'no', the 'ideal' parents are a mum and a dad. I'm not sure there is a right answer to this one, every case is different, and every case should be treated on its merit - the needs of the child are the most important thing. |

I have known heterosexual married couples, who should NEVER have been allowed to have children. Why would a gay couple be less capable of loving and nurturing children? No, I think in all communities there are the good and the bad, the loving and the nasty. Deanna X |

I agree with you Paul, and I don't doubt for one moment that two 'gay' parents could be good parents, but still my gut reaction is no..... |

No. Neither do I agree with single people adopting. History has shown that children, on the whole, yes I know there are exceptions, do better when brought up by two parents. |

So single people or same sex couples should be turned down for adoption even if the other option available is that the child is moved from one home to another offering them no stability and no sense of belonging during the important years when they are tryinng to form their own identity? |

As long as they care for and love the child I don't have a problem. Thats all that matters Heather x |

Yes Gay people should be allowed to adopt children It is the ideal family to have a mum and dad, but today there are more single parent families than ever As long as a child is loved its no difference if the child is raised by a single man or woman or a couple of the same sex. Elaine xi |

Jean - there have been cases of heterosexual foster parents sexually abusing children. Do you object to heterosexuals fostering as well? |
