I'm still researching the mars bar - this thread has whizzed up :-) FACTS It is estimated that the 'King Size' Creme Egg would weigh approximately 130g and contain around 590 calories! 1 & a half times the size of a ''standard'' egg - which I'm sure has shrunk!!! |

According to official Creme Egg history, the original Creme Egg was introduced by Cadbury brothers in the early 1920's and was first available in 1923, but the Creme Egg we know and love today was not made until 1971. The Cadbury Creme Egg plant at Bournville can produce more than 1.5 million eggs per day. It is the best selling confectionery item between January 1st and Easter, with over 200 million being sold annually - that's an average of 3 for every person in the UK. If you laid all the eggs made in the Creme Egg plant end to end, they would stretch all the way from the Bournville factory in Birmingham UK to Sydney in Australia - that's 12,000 miles. Made of milk chocolate and fondant, the standard Creme Egg weighs around 39g and contains 175 calories. Although Creme Egg consumption has never been subject to academic research, it is widely believed that eating only one is utterly impossible! ;-) |
