I really don't know - he worked very hard in general, police for 25 years, then the NSPCC, and I have lots of certificates for working hard and not having any accidents and for helping lots of children. Hos obitury in the paper is quite long, and wasn;t one paid for by the family - it portrays him as being a very kind and good man. All I know from the article is that he and some other 'officers', were working on the case, but that is all I have of it - it doesn;t even say where it was, and as he moved around a lot, and worked in a large area - it could be anywhere. |

I feel its not the end of the story. You know how they open really old murder cases. Well your g granddad knew at the time who did it and I think he will be honoured in some way. |

my grandma always said that he was a very good judge of character and his instincts were usually right. I'd have thought it would have been an open and shut case - although the article gives very little away. |
