Joe Peterson aged 10 has a form of pancreas cancer very rare in children. Last Monday a surgeon was flown in from Germany to perform an eight hour operation at Gt Ormond St Hospital to remove the tumour. The operation was a success but Joe has now caught an infection and his condition is 'touch and go'. Just had a phone call from a relly who is a friend of Joe's family, she was there when he was born. I told her I would ask for your healing thoughts and prayers to help him through the night and for a complete recovery. Many thanks, Joy xx Update at 22.05 Can't thank you all enough for your messages. Just had another phone call from my relative to say that Joe now has scepticaemia. Please keep him in your prayers. Love to you all, Joy xx Updated again Thurs. Joe's condition has been stabilised and his organs are working again, thank God. But he's far from out of the woods and still needs all your support, for which my cousin sends grateful thanks on behalf of Joe's family. She says that Channel 5 will be showing a documentary on Joe's illness called 'a child in a million' in the autumn. Bless you all for your continued support for Joe and his family. xxx Updated Saturday 15th. again, thank you all for your ongoing prayers and loving thoughts for Joe and his family. My cousin (she's a close friend of Joe's family) has had another text msg. Joe is still unconscious on a life support and the next 48 hrs will be critical she has told me. She's going to ring me as soon as there is more news and she says that she feels sure (as I do) that the improvement so far is due to your love and prayers. Please keep them going. God bless, love to all, Joy xxx Margaret , yes of course, I will as soon as I know. xxx Update Monday 17th. Thank you again for your lovely messages which I shall pass on, and for so many prayers. We're getting there ! Just heard that the swelling has gone down and that there is an improvement. Very positive news so far and I hope to have more detail tomorrow. Love, Joy xxx Wed 19th Joe continues in a stable condition although still unconscious and still on life-support. He and his family are very much in need of your prayers. Joy xxx Saturday 22. Just heard that Joe is back on dialysis. not good news. Please keep him in your prayers. xxx Great news this morning - Joe's now off the ventilator and breathing on his own. His doctors are going to try and wake him up. Please let's carry on with our prayers - I know I hardly need ask. Love and thanks, Joyxx |
