I t seems that I may have inadvertently offended by putting up an innocent thread last night. Can longer standing members realise that some of us new comers are not privvy to what has gone on in the past and may innocently wander into a mine field. I was asked very nicely if I could remove the thread and did so with no animosity. :-) |

Sorry Maid Marion Fitzwalter, Next time I post I'll make a point of alerting you so that you are up the minute as to who posts on your forums. |

Perfectly good thread with lots of valid points but even here some people seek to use the thread as a forum to try to strip others of their dignity. I don't post very often and am relatively new here but haven't escaped some nasty pms from some members for posting my opinions. I post my opinion first and if someone disagrees then I will argue my corner, but am happy to accept if I am shown to be in the wrong. I prefer to do that in the round rather than have nasty pms turning up in my message box. |

Yes I agree David, sorry I don't think that I made myself very clear - I am all for open debate, what I meant was that if I personally offended someone I would rather them let me know. It's a very difficult one ! |

I'd much rather someone disagreed with me on the boards Kris - don't like receiving pms objecting to things I have posted. But we're all different:) |

I enjoy a good reasonable debate, but would hope that if my views offended anyone they could let me know and the matter could be resolved in an adult manner and through the privacy of Pms rather than bring an argument to the boards where people would inevitably take sides (human nature) ! |

Hi Margaret I doubt very much you're ever offensive on here - you're one of those who always seems polite and thoughtful:) pmsl Rebs - if I didn't believe Alter before, I certainly do after A Swindle's thread last night. Sorry, A Swindells' thread. |

lololol Just caught up with this thread. David...you crack me up!!! rofpmsl However, in response to Adam. I'm a little intrigued as to how you came about the name Chris Dean. ????? Since you're apparently a new member to the site one can only assume someone gave you this information. If you're going to indulge in a bit of detective work, I suggest you get a more reliable source first. |

Hello David, Just popped in to see if I had any messages and have a quick look at the boards 'cos I wasn't here over the weekend and came across your thread - a good one, as usual, I'd like to add. I tend to reply to threads as I would in 'real' life, but I do agree with what many have said, the written word can be interpreted differently because we are not face to face with anyone on here. I certainly hope that I have never offended anyone on here and if I have (or ever do) I'd be perfectly willing to give explanations either in open or my personal e-mail messages. Hope everyone's had a good weekend! Margaret |

Can't speak for David but don't think this thread was meant to be used for actually offending people. It was just asking for opinions. LOL Jean x. |

Just to redress the balance a little, I'm a huge fan of Alter's sarcasm:) |

A Swindell If your adoption details are private, why are they on a public site ? I too questioned your honesty when the only Adam Swindell on the whole site was in someone else's tree...and as its your board name and we are to assume your true name, it should have shown up as also in your tree....and it hasn't. So Adam swindell is either a made up name or your adoptive name, and your real name is the one person in your tree. If thats the case, Ego has done nothing wrong in mentioning the name you have posted for all to see on the boards Elaine x |

Mr Dean, Quite frankly I find your sarcasm incredibly dull and boring. My personal details are just that, PERSONAL, absoloutly cock all to do with you. I really have nothing more to say to you, I have forwarded on to GR all your nonsense. So go find someone else to pick on, preferably your own age. |
