Lloyd has just rung me. Toni has been taken into delivery room. A long way to go I know. They broke her 'Waters' at 9.30pm after two lots of whatever at 3pm and 9pm. All this inducing is new to me. She is finding it hard already. Will be up most of the night, I am so excited. A Granddaughter at last after four Grandsons. Jenny xx |

When they break the waters it can get quite fast & furious I'd heard in the past, so hopefully this will do the trick and bring the delivery on and she'll be given pain relief to make her more comfortable. My second baby, my son was 9lb 4oz, and was born in 2hrs 40 mins and it left me in shock afterwards as it was so quick, but I did not have my waters broken for me. Let's hope it won't be too long into the night, but get some rest while you can, as you'll want to be fit to see them all tomorrow! What lovely news but a nerve wracking time! I wondered if she'd had her baby today. Claire |

Although I have had four children myself, I am not into this 'Inducement' thing. My eldest Daughter was induced when she had her second boy and thought it was far too quick and sudden. Lasted just under two hours from start to finish. She said 'Never again' Other Daughter had her first induced and was in labour for two days. Second Son born naturally in just under an hour. I am so worried for Toni, she is absolutley petrified. Jenny x |

Jenny, Try not to worry too much as the midwives must be so used to women being frightened by the experience they are going through, even if they have done it before as every labour is different. I'm sure they are doing their best to calm her nerves and support her. If was given a choice I'd prefer not to be induced but if I was going to be, then I'd want a lot of pain relief! Claire |

My first labour was nearly 15 hours of, well, labour! I was cream-crackered at the end and if they'd said they were going to take the baby away and sell it, I would have said 'fine'. 2nd time round, baby was a few days late but they decided to induce me and I was very keen on getting it over and done with. Took about 3 hours from start to finish and afterwards I was feeling fantastic and wanting my cup of tea! |

I am finding it so different. Four Grandsons are my eldest two Daughters. This is Son's first and I cannot be at the Birth as only Father and one Grandparent can be present. Obviously Toni's Mum wants to be with her. Son has sat there since 8am this morning, doesnt ring until after 3pm, tells me he has no credits on his phone, and I finally get in touch with him at 9.30pm tonight.i have worried from the very beginning of this pregnancy, and really feel so frustrated that I could scream. Older Daughters are 230 miles away are begging for info. Is this a natural thing or what???Sorry, I am so worried, excited and ancious. Spelling. Jenny xx |
