Debs I totally agree. I haven't been a member for very long but have noticed that there does seem to be an element of cheap thrill seeking and I for one find it uncomfortable and as I said earlier, inappropriate for this forum. I am still staggered that long term members can be suspended for a swear word yet these threads are allowed !

kris - who is douglas? I am around 'on site' a fair bit, never seen the name before and probably wont again. risque thread posted for one reason and one reason only - ( i didnt see it so have no idea what it was about) To provoke a reaction...and boy, is he getting one, even though the thread appears gone. Ypu are entitled to an opinion, of course you are, in answer to your original Q ......No, i dont think there are any more, just wthe way people react has become more extreme jess

PMSL! I once had written bugger in a reply on the Tips board and was told off about it! I agree with Debs - not funny at all - subtle as a brick and slightly creepy I thought. Debby

Debbie Report 1 Aug 2006 22:38

Kris If we are on about the same thread (and no I dont want to name it publicly sp) then your right, what I read was not nice - ok as I say if you dont like dont read - but that wasnt the case was it?? mmm... how did I know it was going to turn into that sort of thread? The reason I read was because I have the same name in my tree as his!! Debs x

Jess I wasnt around that night but the thread we are on about goes that touch further!! And reached 3 pages I believe.. gross or what? Debs x

Kris

Kris Report 1 Aug 2006 22:41

Jess, that was one that I chose to ignore as indeed I have ignored a few, for the reasons you state - I honestly think that they are getting creepier and creepier- Just my humble opinion, but i don't think that I am on my own judging by responses to this thread.

If we are on about the same thread ........... I didn't understand it, and said so on the thread, and someone has kindly sent me a PM explaining it.

Can I point out that a thread of the same subject matter was circulating the board prior to the beginning of summer and no-one blinked. Nor was there any oppostion to a thread asking peeps if they would go naked on a public beach. In fact, both had a number of amusing replies. Maybe it depends on who the poster of the thread is.

It amazes me the number of women that reply to these types of threads then go on to reply to the 'Where do you live thread?' Dangerous stuff in my opinion.

Jess Bow Bag

Jess Bow Bag Report 1 Aug 2006 22:46

two seperate issues here : was it the thread subject that you objected to? or the fact that is was a bloke that asked? if it was the topic, then its been done before, which was i was refering to when you messaged me (OK Ladies Who has been brave enough to have a Brazillian? Ang Norfolk Gal 29/06/2006 20:53:41 )

Debby

Debby Report 1 Aug 2006 22:46

Rebs Were they posted by women though? Somehow I wouldn't find that as distasteful! And it was the replies that were made by the poster that made it more freakish. Debby

Jess I'm afraid I agree with Debs. To use the analogy made earlier - tights and stockings are little more than 'Carry On' humour - that great British trait of innuendo and titillation, whereas this was something that went past the mark and, to me, was coarse and an abuse of female equality. He never asked a personal question of male members, did he? The old argument of 'don't read it if you don't like it' is wearing a little thin - how can one make the decision not to read if one doesn't know the full content? It's like the old 'Life or Brian' arguments of years ago - you are not qualified to make an informed opinion unless you know the details.

Frances in Norwich

I saw the three threads by the same poster this evening. All of the titles were 'suggestive' and I think we should all bear in mind that none of us knows who anyone really is when we see a name on a thread. I have not seen this persons name before tonight (although I am not around that much) but I would be very wary of someone who can ONLY post threads like these. Frances

Debbie Report 1 Aug 2006 22:51

Well I never saw the one that has been nudged before... though I wouldnt even open that one to read I must say. The sex or chocolate one sounded joky until you read his replies... Still say he found the wrong website and women... though shocked that women would give someone details even if they are for a joke! Debs x
