I would go one step further and say that the women who encourage the poster by replying to his questions are just as much to blame. |

it's also a very cowardly thing to stir up trouble amongst other members, keep putting your two pennies in on the thread, to stir up more trouble, then sneak out the back door and delete your posts before GR see it cos you know they will delete it you will get smacked wrist. catherine xx |

I read the thread in question and must admit I found it very near the mark and offensive Oh, I know I could have ignored it, but lets ask ourselves why we dont ignore such threads ? HUMAN NATURE We feel we must take a look, curiosity gets the better of us....no one would be so sexually personal on a family history site would they ? Yes we are shocked at what we see...but we also know its not the right material for a FH site...general board or not...so we either complain to abuse quietly (as is our right if we see something which offends us) or we admit we have mailed abuse, or we complain on the thread, then get shot down in flames from those who think because as they like the thread/poster they can belittle you and run you down, and that as they are not offended, then 100% of the board shouldn't be offended either. What I find funny is, many people found some very distasteful jokes hilarious which were posted in recent months. Some of these were very crude and near the mark. OK in a personal email between friends, but not on the board where there are many different people from different backgrounds to offend. Anyone who complained was shot down in flames because they did so. (Again I hear cries of 'If you dont like it...dont read it..') That statement doesnt make the offensive / distasteful material right though does it ? I saw Grampa Jim's thread yesterday I thought its initial posting was a bit rude...but I appreciate it was a ploy to 'Make you look ...make you stare...' I watched as Fitz got shot down in flames yesterday...it wasn't nice...he had an opinion and voiced it...to his downfall. I saw some very nasty posts concerning him ...all I can say is shame on you who were nasty via pm and on the board to him...all because he dare have a differing opinion to yourselves. That I find more offensive than the distasteful threads combined I suppose I will be now jumped upon for having this opinion...so Ive got my tin hat on, and at present im hiding behind the sofa in an undisclosed location :o))))))))))))))) Have a great day everyone Elaine x |

Call me behind the times (I'm a bit late in posting I see) But I think ALL of these threads with sexual innuendo are not appropriate for this site. Regardless of who posted them. I see fitz was lynched the other day for objecting about another thread. Sorry but I have to agree with him. It wasn't appropriate. (*waits to be lynched myself*) And the only reason he was lynched was because the person who originally posted the message was a 'long standing, and respected member'. I don't give a flying fiddly fuff who has or hasn't been here for so long. We ALL have equal rights to post on here as much as everyone else. Can I ask, this site is for people aged 16 and older. Anyone with a 16 year old, would you be happy for your child to read some of messages on here? I wouldn't. - And I've said before, it's much easier to say ignore it than it is to actually practice. |

Hi Kris I do think its down to individual choice which thread you choose to read, if you don’t like a thread move on leave them too it. the problem is the PD brigade they just cant move on and leave others to have a laugh, (PD meaning preach one think do another) they have to spoil it for others, very immature I think, but as I said we are all individuals and have are own opinions on things, if you don’t like it ignore it, Lil |

I would just like to apologise for abandoning my thread - I'm afraid that my washing machine misbehaved and I ended up bailing out a flooded kitchen until the early hours!! Reading back, the thread does not make a lot of sense as obviously posts have been deleted. |

Call it a nudge or whatever (really not bothered) but I see that dirty douglas has deleted his replies on here!! Dirty Douglas, you thought that we were being dishonest, how is it then that within an hour of you saying we were accusing you of being certaing things! you delete your replies to what we said? That tells me that your ashamed of the things you were asking the women on this website, if you feel the need to find out what women do in the bathroom and other rooms that they feel they have privacy from prying eyes why do you come onto a website that mainly deals with with genealogy????? Again I ASK you about the ref to your surname as it is of interest to me- i can prove this in my tree Debbie Who stands by why she thinks you visit this site!! |
