MERRY CHRISTMAS ??? There's the holly and the ivy Hung on the kitchen wall, There's a lovely sprig of mistletoe Hung up there in the hall, There's lots of frosty patterns All across the window pane, These are the signs of joy and cheer, Yes, it's Christmas Day again. Standing in the corner There's a lovely Christmas tree, With presents strewn around it For all the family, Oh, see the children's faces, There broad smiles can be seen, Showing that they're really glad That Santa Claus has been. Just watch their busy fingers Untie the parcel's string, What has Santa brought for me ? They all are wondering, There's a brand new pipe for father, And bedroom slippers for mam, There's a football game for Jimmy And for Sal a doll and pram. Soon the table's laid out And then it's time to eat, And when they've took their places Mum fetches in the meat, There's lots of pork and turkey, Christmas pud and sparkling wine, And then there's nuts and chocolate, Oh ! is'nt Christmas Day divine. Then comes Christmas evening, There's mince pies and cakes for tea, Then when they've finished eating They sit and watch T.V. There's pop and crisps for all the kids And drinks for mum and dad, What a lovely Christmas Day ! It's the best they've ever had. Boxing Day comes round again And they all stop in bed, The kids have got the tummy ache, Mum and dad an awful head, And they're taking salts and tablets To try and ease their pain, Well, they had a Merry Christmas, But, they went too far, again. The seasons greetings to you all Jeff PMSL |

I have also put this song on Muffs thread, I love it! Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow Oh the weather outside is frightful But the fire is so delightful And since we've no place to go Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow! It doesn't show signs of stopping And I've bought some corn for popping The lights are turned way down low Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow! When we finally kiss goodnight How I'll hate going out in the storm! But if you'll really hold me tight All the way home I'll be warm The fire is slowly dying And, my dear, we're still goodbying But as long as you love me so Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow! |

Troubled times are here to stay. The same old cry from day to day, I've been robbed, she's been mugged, houses and properties, they've been bugged. No-one in power takes note or cares if you're knifed in the back or raped on the stairs. Young or old, rich or poor, so afraid won't open the door. Virtual prisoners in your own home, while them to blame are free to roam. What to do, how to act, we have to approach it with guille and tact. No-one can retalliate with blows, or retorts, or it's we the innocents who end up in the courts, either paying compensation or serving time in jail, while the guilty are laughing, blazing a trail to the next victim. Yes, wait and see, could be you tomorrow or perhaps even me. Is it not time to make a stand, write to the Commons, write and demand something to be done before it's too late, before the criminal walks through your gate. |

Christmas at Locherbie Evening has come with its usual care. Nightime is nigh, bringing unknown despair. The quiet of the hillsides. The still of the glens. People are settling at home, or with friends. Lights in village are twinkling and bright, beckoning a welcome, to those out that night. Christmas is near, goodwill to all men. The hour has gone six, it happens then. A plane overhead explodes into flame. The village of Locherbie is never the same. Nurses, doctors, firemen, police, were quickly on the scene, aiding where help was needed. Quelling fires where houses had been. Their faces told the story, of that dreadful night. The outrage of Pan-Ams number 103 flight. May comfort come to families, who are stricken down with grief. Let their faith never waver, may their prayers bring some relief. |

Time to Share A passing day another night, how time goes quickly by. No time for this, no time for that, we grumble with a sigh, but if we stopped and thought awhile of others and their needs, we surely could find the time to do a few good deeds. Try talking to the old folk of happy times gone by, or playing with the young ones, give it another try. Let's all be friends together, let laughter lead the way. Bring happiness to others, so pass the time of day. |

Who Cares The cold wet days of winter. The long dark silent night, when the poor, the old, the lonely, have time to heed their plight, No fires burning brightly, no happiness to share, when you're wrapped up in a blanket, sat in an old armchair. Thinking of yesteryear, that seems so far away. When hopes were so much higher with work and help and play. No muggings, glue, or drugs to put your mind in dread of going to the shops or lying home in bed. Maybe the day will come when faith is there once more, to answering a knock which comes upon your door. God bides his time, of that we know. His justice comes sure, if slow. So heed these words, those in power, do not watch the people cower. Give them help and peace of mind that you would give to your own kind. |

Growing Old Money spent here, money spent there, money spent most everywhere. Where does it go? What does it do? None of it's spent on me or you. Officials get paid. Grand cars they drive. Functions and feasts they attend. Tell us to pull in our belts, while they live it up and go out to spend, spend, spend. Winter is here, chill and cold, a call from death, for them that's old. No comfort or warmth by night or day. No money to spare, still the bills to pay. Two world wars they fought and won. Thousands died by the bombs and guns, Them that are left should have ease of their bones. Let there be contentment and warmth in their homes. Give them their rights for what it is worth. Make their last years a heaven on earth. |

The Earth Sunlight to warm your body. Moonlight caresses your love. The stars that shine so brightly reflect in your eyes from above. The earth plains which surround us with roots that hold us firm are being taken away from us, by people who show no concern for this planet called earth is in danger the core slowly eaten away by gases fumes and tree felling which is happening day by day. Rain falling is two parts acid. The flowers die, killing the bees, no honey to sustain us let's look again at the trees. The rain forests are rapidly falling for greed of man and gain. Do what you can to save the earth. Do not let us die in vain. |

Silent night, holy night All is calm, all is bright Round yon Virgin Mother and Child Holy Infant so tender and mild Sleep in heavenly peace Sleep in heavenly peace Silent night, holy night! Shepherds quake at the sight Glories stream from heaven afar Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia! Christ, the Saviour is born Christ, the Saviour is born Silent night, holy night Son of God, love's pure light Radiant beams from Thy holy face With the dawn of redeeming grace Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth ' I love this carol xxx |

James (Aged two.Lost in precinct.) It took but some moments, I turned, you were gone. Forgive me, my Jamie, forgive me, my son. The love that we shared lasted only two years. It will take a lifetime to dry out my tears. The love that we have, your daddy and me, for you will last for eternity. God has you my angel in his tender care. In Heaven one day, We shall both meet you there. Friendship What is a friend? Who can tell. Will they see you in heaven or see you in hell? Will they do you down or pick you up? Whatever which way it's all down to luck. A friend is a friend who would lay down his life. A friend is no friend if he steals your wife. Whatever the outcome we'll wait and see. In the words of Shakespeare, 'what will be will be.' |
