Hiya all,at last ,the kitchen is finishedand i am today relaxing and getting a rest before the boss decideds what she wants me to do next he he. I had at last finished the last two units ,got off my knees ,straightened my back with a sigh of relief, and thinking about the arm chair ,when the wife said, what about my knife rack[sob, unkind thoughts] but i thought i had better get on with it. Cor ,my missus is aaaaard lol,but at least she is now giving me time off. I had intended having a lay in this morning to celibrate ,but Hissy put paid to that ,prancing across the bed at two this morning[ more unkind thoughts, but i decided against cutting her tail off with a pair of blunt scissors and put her in the kitchen.locked her in and went back to bed. So far today she has listened to my muttered threats of short rations for a week and has been a good girl,.BUT,i'm taking no chances ,she spends the night in the kitchen in future.he he. Looking at t he forcast ,next week dosn't look too good, but i hope a change in the wind will improve matters a little, more cold weather i don't need. Fred is off early tonight ,i'm going to play a couple of games for a change. Catch you all later.Fred.

Morning peeps,Brenda, dorothy, and anyone else who looks in. It's a far better morning here ,sunny [now ] reasonably warm for the time of year5c with a possibility of 7c by the weekend, sao it looks like time to get into the garden and get the old plants out before the winter returns. I still have a load of horse muck from last year which i will dig in before adding ther lime. We go irish for dinner today, veggie meal coming up folks ,needing tatties [scottish romano] leek from the garden, kale ditto,as is the onion,a little low fat cheese sprinkled on top before it goes into the oven, lovely. I am doing very well ,having lost two pounds of the christmas fat,and on course to get down to 12 stone ,which i will be happy with. As i lose the weight ,the sugar count goes down as well, which at the present time is staying steady at 7.0,one happy bunny i issss he he. We are off out for tea just down the road, where i will get tea as a bowl of lovely home made soup, and some french stick, and as a bonus ,get to see my grandkids again, who are all growing at an alarming rate[or is it me shrinking with old age ]. Our Hissy has found a new game, chasing pieces of screwed up paper flicked by me or liz across the room and over the furniture only to bring it back like a dog ,dropping it at our feet to have it flicked again, bless her,she gets hours of fun doing this ,and liz is ticked pink with her. Must go now as i have lots to do.Hope everygot their piccies of the kitchen, dorothy? did yours turn up okay?,i havn't used your email addy before ,so don't know if i copied it correctly. Catch you all later.Fred.

Morning peeps, and dorothy,Brenda, had a chinwag on the other two threads and see the two of you need a hand to keep this thread going till others come back off holiday,or dig themselves out of the snow lol. Had a look at the australian cooking programme last night and saw some of the events that are going on over there for the next few days. I saw too, that one city,i think Brisbane has a local park in the city centre that once a week has loads of stalls selling lots of stuff, and lots, doing dishes from all over the world ,and people buying the food and sitting on the grass with their food trays ,enjoying their healthily cooked chicken ,fish and whatever, how laid back is that?. Can you imagine trying to do that in Hyde park in London,or the dingle in Shrewsbury,he he,the police would be there in a minute telling you to move on,and of course, the local councils woudn't allow it without a license which they would make you pay through the nose for. There was such a clatter on out roof yesterday morning at the middle of the witching hour[sorry mum in law] as something rolled back and forth on our roof, and of course ,i thought [oh bother] more expense.but as luck would have it ,there is no damage to my roof at all,it was next doors chimney pot that got blown off the stack, making a big hole in her tiles as it hit the roof. The wind has started to drop at last ,and i thought it would be about time to hit the road and get the supplys in,but now,it has started to pour with rain instead you can't win can you. We had a message off Sean last night to say that he had arrived in Canada safely, but that it was freezing cold he he,what else did he expect at this time of year ?lol Seeing as he has settled on the plan to choose canda as his last two year posting ,and then get discharged over there ,to settle down,i think he had better get used to it . Time to go peeps ,need the supplies in ready for the dinner, fish today, with some steamed rice and veggies. Catch you all later.Fred.

Hi all, I noticed the branches of the trees opposite us filling out, which means there are buds on the branches. It seems only yesterday that I was witnessing the branches shedding their leaves. This means that Spring is round the corner. The birds are extremely busy too, flying back and forth. Does this mean we'll have little ones soon? I had unexpected visitors for coffee today which was nice. They brought me a lovely big bunch of orange tulips. See you tomorrow Syvia xxx

Morning Sylvia ,Brenda,i notice too that the birds are in a tizz ,plenty of squabbling over grub and pieces of twig ,so ,yes Sylvia, looks like the chicks are on their way. I am a little concerned in that our weather looks like taking a turn for the worst next week,so i will have to look out for my feathered buddies, keeping the water ice free ,and putting a little extra food out for them, and NOT trimming the hedges yet,to give them a little extra shelter. Hope Sean enjoys himself ,and learns to ski as well as brush up his ice skating,if he does settle in Canada he will possibly need both skills ,if he buys a place well out of town ,which he is looking to do. That's well into the future anyway,he has just signed a new contract, and will be staying in the raf for 22 years, meaning Liz and i will likely not see him settled in. Martin is going to be off to oz shortly for a couple of weeks to visit Rachaels folks, then she is coming over here in April ,with the two boys. I will be over there on holiday sometime next year,to go to the wedding ,and hopefully visit a few folks that i would love to meet. All being well,a couple of years after ,Liz and i will move too,and see the back of this country that rewards hard working people by screwing them into the ground with silly bloody laws and crippling taxes. To add insult to injury ,the powers that be ,then award themselves thousands a year in extra pay,and double their pension rights, What a carve up ,us poor working people having to pay for it all.while certain people run round in two huge Jag's and sup about four bottles of wine with every main meal, not including the bottles of gin ,and whiskey.in the evenings. Rant over peoples, sorry about that ,but it boils my blood to see the way hard working folk get put on by a greedy nation, fixated to filling their pockets ,whilst others ,no matter how hard they work,no matter what hours they work, can't get on in life. Weeeell ,Fred is about to be sent into the garden by the missus ,while things are calmish,we could do with some veggies out, broccoli.beet, kale and tatties,so ,before the boss raises her voice [ouch] ,off i go to keep my feathered buddies company for an hour .Fred.

goodmorning one and all I did not get up at 3-30 am to watch the australian men's final so I am avoiding all news broadcasts and the english papers on line so that I can watch the repeat at 3pm to-day the temptation to fine out is overwhelming but I am going to stick to my guns, fred what part of this vast country is sean visiting just wondered, brenda how lovely that the daffs are coming up that is what I miss the most the spring time in england, to-day is allright cold but sunny we had a little snow last night but not much, I was looking after two of the grandchildren last evening so we went out for supper then watched a d.v.d spiderman 3, the youngest did not like it much too much romance he said. he has lost about 5 teeth in the last week so looks rather different but as he will be 9 in april it was about time some of them come out. it will be a slow week next week as there will be no tennis maybe I will get back to doing the family tree again lots of paper but not in order as yet. bye for now dorothy

Poor tweeties, just when they thought about building nests for their offspring it turns colder. Have a nice evening. Sylvia xxx

hi just on my way to bed after a great afternoon I watched the tennis with the three grandchildren and the boys finally realized how much muscle power is needed to play the game at the top leval, mind you I don't think they were prepared to see me in action when watching a game as I get very involved with the game jumping up and down, walking around the room on major points and talking out loud as I say fun was had by all, brenda you sound very down working ona a sunday was never much fun for me when I did it , it seems like everyone else is home with family hope you are feeling bettter to-morrow bye for now dorothy

Hi everyone Weather here very wet ,cold and windy says Brenda. Here in New Zealand rain is one thing we would like. Farms and lawns are looking quite brown due to the lack of rain the soil moisture is an all time low. The only green on our lawn is around the outside edge. The flower plants we planted are surviving only just but we do give them a water on alternative days. This heat is saps one's energy quite quickly. John

Morning peeps, ehem,Dorothy ,can't make up my mind if you meant that Bury is to have snow,or wether it was going to be burried in snow he he,but never mind ,it seems that Newcastle is going to cop it as well ,so we can have a good moan together, lol. Fred was busy with an unwell missus for a couple of Days Brenda, with her back playing up [osteo porisis] and her breathing problems too ,i was doing a fair bit of running about too,but not to worry, she is lots better after starting her course of stearoids ,and pain killers, coupled with the inhalors for the copd. We are well stocked up now so the weather can please itselfas to what it does. We had howling gales last night, and the wind is still pretty strong ,so oncwe it starts to snow ,it should be interesting to say the least. It is snowing to the north of here now ,and it seems that the drivers are having fun on the a 1 near morpeth, but it will be our turn next i think arriving sometime early afternoon. Of course, with the drop in the temperatures ,and threratened snow , the garden has come to a full stop ,no way am i going out there ,i will just send for Edith ,she seems to love it brrrrrrr. Never mind troops ,spring isn't far away, and it's only 11 months to Christmas lol[fred ducks as the boots, lumps of stale bread and whatever, head this way.] You can laugh you lot at the mention of that word,BUT,my wife has already started buying presents ,and bits and pieces, the easter eggs are hidden upstairs, and before you know it ,she will come in with fireworks for the bairns. Oooooer, the snow is here ,a bit earlier than expected, looks like something warm is needed for the dinner,i fancy a stirfry so ,it's out with the wok,and the white cabbage,i will take it from there. We had a treat for tea last night too,i fancied a Macdonald mcmuffin,so got out two cheeses muffins, did to slices of bacon apiece, two ringed eggs, two cheese slices[low fat ] from aldi.put it all together with some french fries. The wife had a little tomato sauce with hers[home made],but i fancied some mustard that i found in a shop last week, having horseradish in as well,it was lovely smeared on the potato,so ,i will be looking for another bottle when i go into the store next. Well, time to go folks, have a nice day everyone, and ,by the looks of the weather promised for the next couple of days ,will be back tomorrow.Fred.
