Good Morning everyone,Dorothy enoyed my trip to Bury but didn't actually get on the market, will be looking for the cheese, but its banned at the minute!!.We were mainly in the shops, but have now done 75% of the christmas shopping for dad and myself. Will get afew more things this weekend and hope to finish of this coming week.So that all I have to get before my holidays is food, which can be frozen, apart from the fresh stiuff ,which i will get Christmas eve(I HOPE)Had some really sad news last night the mother of one of my dearest friends died early in the morning, she was calling to let me know, and was natuarally very upset. Her mother was areally kind lady and helped me with a few nice gestures when i first met my friend. She even lent me her hoover one day when mine wasn't working.
My friend was with her when she passed, which was really sudden and such a shock as she had not been ill.Puts a lot of things into perpective doesn't it.
Fred ,hope you manage with your hands for a long while yet,I know a few people who have had or have this problem and when they have had the op it has had varying degrees of success.Hope the missus feels better
sylvia ,good idea staying home and having a day to yourself.Enjoy
Going to get the washing machine going now, hope to get back later..
take care,Brenda

hi brenda sorry about talking about cheese while you are off it you did do well with your shopping for xmas, that was sad news you recieved it never gets any easier when you loose people who mean a lot to you, fred sorry to hear about the hands I had one years ago when I was young and they snipped it and it has been fine since , they do a lot of carpel tunnel surgery on my nursing friends over here it seems to be a hazard of the job I hope that they can fix you up soon, it would be awful if we did not hear about your wonderful cooking. to-day the snow is almost gone it is cool but sunny laura is 11 to-day so I am going over for cake and ice cream about 6 and she will open her gifts from the family then. shall be watching the remeberance day service to-morrow I think that bryan will have to miss his first parade if he is no better but I won't know till I get over there bye for now dorothy

Hi all,
Well, well fancy you of all people Fred having Carpale tunnel syndrome.
I think, and hope that this time they have cured my hand. You will remember that the first two operations I had on my right hand did not work and I had more pain than ever. Well "third time lucky". I had the stitches out of my hand last week and am beginning to feel my fingers a bit now.
When this hand has completely recovered I'l have the left hand done.
When are you having your hand operated on Fred?
The weather here today is like yours in the uk I think, some rain, some sun and some wind.
Have a nice day/
Sylvia xxx

Got to go over to Dads early today as he needs the cream putting on his back more often.Have to phone the hospital tpomorrow as he might need to go back sooner for his review as the rash became infected he had to stop the chemo tablets. He is feeling a bit off colour with the infection/

goodmorning brenda rather cold but sunny here, no bryan was not allowed to be in the parade to-day so he will have to watch it on tv, the doctor did not want him doing anything outside this week-end he is being allowed back to school to-morrow, I will be driving him they always walk but for to-morrow he gets a ride, though I will have to be over there at 7-30 as andrew has an early meeting at head office so he will leave at 6-30 and lindy is subbing for a teacher who is ill and will have to be at the school at 8am (a different school from the children), so I will be up quite early grandma's do come in useful don't we.I am waiting for the services from ottawa to come on, I did watch the english ones on line it does bring a lump to the throat and a feeling of great pride in the veterans have a good day everyone bye for now dorothy

Morning peeps ,wahey, hang the flags out ,fred jumps up and down in glee,,.why you ask?.subject to a credit check to make sure he is in work, the son has a new house ,and moves Saturday week .
At last ,i have my house back ,almost lol, just in time to get it back to normal for christmas.
We go to town this morning to find the last of the bairns christmas pressies, and look for a turkey for the freezer ,just in case this bird flu gets up north and i loose mine which is still on the farm.
We also need a nice leg of pork yet ,though the slow roast piece of beef i need for the corned beef has been ordered at Morrisons, and will be ready to pick up three weeks before christmas, giving me plenty of time to prepare it.
Otherwise ,things are now looking up lol,the cover on the consumer unit is now awaiting it's coating of varnish to finish it off.
The rest of the house will take a little sorting after three months of 5 bains thundering around ,but we will get there, and a nice peacefull house at christmas to look forward too.
It Looks like Sean has his leave as well ,so he will be home on the 22 december ,christmas day will therefore consist of Liz ,and me ,Sean, and Martin& chris.
Off out now ,to get this shopping sorted.See ya later .Fred.

hi fred congratulations on getting your house back you must be pleased for your son and family. as usual all your talk about your food preparations for xmas has me feeling hungry and it is only breakfast time over here. off to have lunch with the son to-day he is working at home, and lindy was offered a part time teaching position yesterday starting this morning so she is very happ the school is close to home not the one the children go to but nearby so she has her foot in the teaching door. bit foggy up here this am but still about 52 degree's so unusual normally we have a lot of snow but I don't mind this at all. they are out fishing on the bay this morning the lake is like glass. well off to the shower take care best wishes to all bye dorothy

Afternoon all.lovelly sunny ,freezing day here in Manchester, glad you can see the light at the end as they say Fred.hope it all goes well for you and the family,we have our beef and pork in the freezer for christmas, not sure if we are on a large chicken or small turkey crown as only David will eat Turkey.
Dorothy glad you have managed some shopping .I am starting to wrap mine this weekend (due to the holiday in december) it is then when I see what I have forgotten.Have ordered some on line which should be here just as we get back.!!!
Time to go and have a cuppa before staring work again.Take care

badger Report 15 Nov 2007 06:58

Morning Brenda,I i were buying your meat,i would settle for a large capon seeing as only David will eat turkey, but i find ,that cooked the right way,on it's breast for the first two hours before being turned over ,and bacon strips laid over the skin it comes out nice and moist and tender ,not like dried sawdust.
I also stuff the cavity with two cut oranges as well which gives it a nice flavour.
Things look good for the son,the prospective landlord says he has nothing against the son for losing his house because hundreds of others are in the same boat, and as long as the credit check is okay ,the bungalow is his if he still wants it,sooooo,i may be hanging the flags out within a couple of days lol.
Liz is now getting the stuff together for the two christmas cakes, and the christmas puds for the family are in the freezer.
Our own are the other sort of pudding ,made the night before and cooked just before needed, they always taste so fresh that we have gone off the other sort.
The daughter had a bit of a disaster last night when her son spilt orange juice all over the dads sound desk while trying out a new song, the dad went daft ,so ,as we have a hatchback,we are taking the desk to the post office this morning so that it will get to Milton Keynes by Sarurday morning for repair.
Another night without a win on the lottery ,what a bummer lol, still ,we shouldn't complain ,we have had a few small wins in the past, one being for £500 which paid for a holiday in Berwick.
Time to get the breckie' i think some porridge this morning as it's a bit thin outside lol.
Fred.

Hi everyone,Dorothy yes the lounge is looking good, might have to go up to Bury for my nets as they seem to have the cheapest!!can then put them up with my new curtains, and it will be finished.John wants a new TV in the new year, probably in the sales. .
Its something to do with the digital/analogue change that is coming in for tvs in 2009.seems we have to get a boxor something if we don't have a HD ready tv and the video and dvd players and recorders might need changing as well.I am sure Fred is up to scratch on all this technology!!
On work at 12,til 5pm so need to get a move on as I am dropping some bags of stuff of at the charity shop on the way.
