Afternoon to Brenda ,Bill ,and anyone else who looks in,from a very mild north east of England ,+7c here at the moment ,what a change from the last three weeks ,but it won't last long ,before it slips back to the cold.
Way to go Bill ,you have to spoil yourself once in a while ,and your tea sounded very nice ,hmmmmmm ,i may just try that one myself .
Tea tonight is a few of these Perogies ,in a dish with a few thinly sliced carrot ,onions and potato slices, done in a cheese pasta sauce ,so i will soon know if Perogies are a regular meal option.
I Hope you manage to find a nice holiday option Brenda ,but i'm afraid going overseas is becoming for and more fraut with problems from ticket booking to firms collapsing ,not a nice outlook at all for the foreseable future.
Me ,i think back to Blackpool first ,then maybe Wales ,Cornwall ,or North west Scotland ,in many ways just as enjoyable as overseas destinations without flight worries.
Going to do a little housework [yuk ] but will be back later.Fred :-D.

Brenda Report 13 Feb 2012 17:25

Afternoon,Bill and Fred and anyone else having a look in.
Managed to get out to see some friends today as it was a bit warmer again.Have found a little bus I can get to where we meet saves me walking there when I have any pain!!!
But it means I can not do any window shopping!!
I love spaggetti hoops with sausages ,on toast ,my comfort food,so I only have it now and again as it is really filling and fattening!!!
In the weather we have just had ,we have been thinking of broths and stews etc would say pies but we are not that good with pies(eating the pastry)!!
Time to sort out tea ,chicken from yesterday awith new potatoes and veggies,
Take care
Brenda xx

Hi Brenda, and Fred if youve Surfaced.
Raining here again but not cold.
Hope Fred & Liz are ok, unusual to disappear for a couple of days without saying
I use a george foreman type grill, which i put small pies in, but they tend to squish too much, so I put them between 2 slices of bread and it makes a nice sandwich and soakes up the sauce.
Hope your well Brenda.
P.S. Its still Summer here, Autumn starts in a week or so, and Winter in June.
Just thought I'D set the record straight.

Brenda Report 16 Feb 2012 18:38

Hi Bill ,Fred and everyone looking in,weather went cold and wet this afternoon, this morning was good bit of sunshine again, even if it did not last long.!!!
Managed a couple of errands again today ,and got a few jobs done in the house,so feeling pretty good again,
We have a George Foreman as well Bill, might tell John about your pie sandwich!! The one we have is a bit big for us,so it doesn;t actually get used that much ,unless we have some one in for a meal.
Hope it stays dry and warm for you Bill.
Hope Fred and Liz are ok ,and John & his family in NZ.
Its all football tonight so I am going to watch a couple of DVDs my friend lent me.
take care

Hi Brenda ,Bill ,and anyone else who looks in today, not a bad morning here ,which i am glad of ,having to be back at the hospital by 10-30
The son is taking me down ,because after a very bad reaction to a new heart drug ,i cannot drive until i have seen the specialist and get the all clear.
It seems i had been on Wafarin too long ,and the hospital decided tpo change my medication . :-(.
Having started the new stuff when i got home ,within an hour ,i had to call the doctor in with severe palpitations ,high blood pressure and sickness, needless to say i was back on the old medication as soon as he arrived.
There is an older drug ,Atenanol ,which the hospital will put me on which is tried and tested ,and the doc' says there is only a very slight chance of problems with this,as it's been in use for many years.
ahhhh ,well ,looks like at least i will have a nice quiet weekend anyway ,lol.these things are sent to try us .
It's probably better to be indoors anyway ,as we are heading back into winter.
Catch you later peeps ,take care all Fred :-).

Brenda

Brenda Report 17 Feb 2012 20:48

Hi everyone,so sorry you have had such a bad time with the new drug Fred, hope you are sorted out and back to normal soon.!!
We managed to book a holiday yesterday ,we have ten days in May at the apartments we like in Tenerife ,it was the best price we have seen since the one I let go the other week,.
We have also sorted out the sideboard so we are all ok for the time being.
Will the medication stop you going to the grandsons next month and Fleetwood ?
take care Brenda

badger Report 18 Feb 2012 09:27

Morning all ,not a bad morning here ,but it is threatening drizzle or rain ,with blustery wind ,[blast it ]that's me B B q gone ,before the winter returns this evening .
after going back to hospital yesterday to see how the new drug was doing ,Atenanol ,which stabelized me within a few hours i seem to be back to normal [for me anyway] ,lol
Anyway ,i have to slip out to the surgery in an hour ,to check with my doctor and see if i can drive the car again, but i don't see any problems at all ,i feel fine again :-D.
Might just follow your thoughts ,re Bills idea of a tea ,lol,it would make a heck of a change from the usual fare ,and promises to taste pretty amazing.
The son will take me to the doc's this morning ,and then shopping to Aldi' which i use for a lot of meat ,fish and veggie shopping ,before going on to Morrisons, for the rest .
After reading that report this morning on the bread that these big bakeries produce ,i will NOT be buying white bread again ,apart from in store bakeries, after finding that ground down human hair is used to make a better ,easier to handle dough, bloody disgusting to say the least ,and i reckon the muslim Christian, and vegan communities will be up in arms, once this gets out.
In future ,i buy in store baked bread ,like Asda ,or Morrison's ,or better still ,make my own from basic ingredients :-|.
Think Genes need to check their ads on their home pages he he ,M Y A beuty products are still showing ,all i want for Christmas , hmmmmmm ,is that a tad late? or veeeeeeery early ? ,lol, come on Genes ,get yourself sorted out , :-|.
Have you tried these fish pieces in sauce yet Brenda ,the ones that come in bags ,with the sauce on top ? ,we tried the Haddock ones last night for tea ,and have to say they were outstanding [miowwww] see ,even Hissy agrees,ll,when ever we have fish ,she plagues us unless she gets her cut ,we thought perhaps the sauce ,although delicate ,might put her off ,but no .our food taster never let us down,he he ,if we have fish ,and she turns her nose up ,we don't buy it again ,because it's a sure bet it isn't what it appears to be.
We brought some Cod as well produced by the same company ,so we will see what that is like mid week ,i must have my fish at least twice a week ,if not three.
.Time to go and get ready now ,but all being equal ,i will be back this afternoon, still rarin' to go to Oxford ,and Blackpool as well ,he he :-D ,Fred.

Afternoon folks,we have had a very sunny but really chilly day today ,it looked lovelly through the windows but was really cold !!
Glad you are on the mend Fred, hope it stays that way.
Been busy doing some little bits of jobs round the house, but they take me a lot longer theses days.!!!
Have not tried the fish dishes yet have forgotten the name actually. But I have seen some that I think are the same.David and John are not keen on fish in sauces so may get one for myself.!!
Hope you all had a good weekend,Take care Brenda

Morning Brenda ,and anyone else who happens by .,don't know about you lass ,but ooooop 'ere the sun is shining and it promises to be a good day ,and by tomorrow we could be sitting in 14c ,woohoo, time to get the fork and spade out of hibernation .
We got my sugar levels back to normal yesterday so we had a nice ,mild Thia curry for tea last night ,and very nice it was .
Our fish in sauce is from Birds Eye ,either Salmon ,Cod ,or Haddock.the latter two being the ones we have .but i like my Cod and Haddock in Batter or crumb leaving the others for Liz ,which is the only way she will eat fish, and seeing as they both get done in the oven in any case , can do a meal in the small oven for both ,no problem.
I,m off now ,to see what wants doing around the place but i may just go onto the patio first to have a coffee and sit in the sun with the cat ,to keep her face straight ,lol.
Catch you later ,Fred. :-D

Evening all.we have been a lot warmer here today ,but no sunshine, big grey clouds, was expecting it to rain but it did not.
Have done well with the decluttering, and have taken more stuff to the charity shop and John has been to the tip.so we are now seeing day light,!!!
We usually have Birds eye fish with the batter ,but we also like the lightly dusted fish that most of the supermarkets now have ,but Aldis is really nice.
Hope the rain they have said we will get tomorrow does not materialise and John can get out to golf.I am out shopping for shoes tomorrow, was not going to have any new ones for the wedding next month but now have to get some as the ones I have don.t fit anymore.!! My feet are getting really wide !!.
John made some great pancakes tonight, they are not my favourites, but were not bad.He put blueberries and natural fromage frais in them.
Glad everything is coming back together for you Fred.
Take care Brenda

Morning Brenda ,and anyone else that may show up .
Veeeeery windy here this morning ,so if you are going to the shops Brenda ,use the diving boots ,so that you don't take off as you are moving about.:-0 .
Yes ,we do a lot of Aldi shopping ,the baked beans are better than anyone elses ,and you can buy the reduced sugar/salt ones far cheaper [and nicer ]than any other main brands for as little as 30p a tin .
I like their chunky fish pieces as well ,both cod and haddock in crumb ,or batter.
That's what i will be doing for dinner today ,with some broccoli ,carrot and new potatoes ,all from you know where ,lol :-).
It's far too windy to go out and get those tatties out of the bin ,so i will try again in the morning ,hopefully.
Finished up last night updating the little hewlet packard notebook i had loaned to one of my grand daughters ,taking out all the clutter from the hard drive ,doing a total restore .after increasing the memory by a gig making it a 2 gig memory ,enough to speed it up quite a bit .
Glad to have it back though as it's the only laptop with windows X P on ,for some needs ,still the best version of windows around
The demolition is moving along quite nicely ,my only concern being what the council intend to do about any possible invasion of the land by travellers while it stands empty for the five years before the land can be used for building again.
I can still remember the last place we lived ,with the demolition there .and the increased trouble ,and break in's caused by the travellers who moved in.as soon as they spotted a free parking spot ,it was months before the council and police moved them on ,and what a ruddy mess they left behind :-(.
Ah ,well ,time to get the dinner going ,so i will be off for now at least ,but may be back later.Fred :-D .

Evening all, well i got out today to the Lowry ,which was just as well as it was very wet and very windy ,.Not sure it was as windy as near Freds.
We had a walk round the centre and my friend got a new shirt for her husband and some cards and a present for some friends. We had lunch in a Harvester place but it was really busy ,it took them ages to bring our meals, mind you we had a pot of tea and a cup of coffee and a chat while we waited which was really nice.We had a little look in a couple of shops at shoes but I did not see anything I liked.
Got home just after 3pm and felt really tired ,but have tried not to sleep so i should sleep tonight ,as I did not sleep well last night.
Fred you sound really busy with your pcs etc wish I had more know how ,to do what you do.
Better go and get the kettle on ,John will be down from his bath soon and I promised him a cuppa. Take care Brenda

Morning all ,very noisy here this morning with the council demolition contractors now just around the corner clearing the multi flat foundations ,that jack hammer and pile driver they are using to break up the concrete are making a real racket.
I think next week when they start the last demolition ,right on the end of the street ,will see me and the missus going out for the day as soon as they start work on this last block.the noise is going to be tremendous ,as is the dust thereof ,lol :-(
The tattie barrels will have to wait yet again ,mild it may be out in the garden ,but i don'y like working in the rain at all .so it can wait a few more days if need be .i have plenty of time, before the new season starts.
Liz's old puter has finally gone to the great computer in the sky and she is on a little backup job i had in the cupboard ,until her new one arrives.
I only ordered it this morning ,so i have till midweek to get ready for the big [set up ] day .
This new one has a bigger ,4 gig ram ,a 120 gig hard drive ,and a large ,powerful cpu ,which should speed things up for her browsing ,and her games.it's on xp too ,so i can use my xp pro disk to upgrade it yet again ,and then even move on to windows vista ,if she wishes ,anything to keep the missus happy ,and it will give me something to do for a week or so ,before i start in the garden.
The odds and ends like the re installation of the printer ,and wi fi ,i will leave to her ,it will give her something to do ,lol, it will prove interesting ,he he ,but hopefully she will manage these tasks very well without any help :-).
Away now to do some work aroung the house ,sigh ,a mans work is never done ,lol .and before there is an outcry ,neither is a womans :-D.
Catch you later peoples ,Fred ;-)
