Hi Fred, weather has been fairly dry this afternoon and John said the golf course was open,so fingers crossed it stays dry tonight and he will get out tomorrow. I went down to the Lowry with my friend and my other friend who works there got her break to have a coffee with us,mind you we got in the coffee shop and the could not do coffees due to the machine being broken so we had to have tea.!!! My friend got her shoes and a few othe rbits and I got a tee shirt and a cardigan. Saw some Actifry cookers on offer and wondered if it was the same as yours it was the one you just use a spoonful of oil? Sorry if I have it all mixed up. Have been thinking of coming of Facebook as I do notr fancy my details going out to everyone. They are just doing it next week,!!! hope the baking session went ok Fred the steak and kidney and the chicken sound great. Hope Bill stays out of the river and catches his fish like everyone else.. Take care Brenda xx

hi Brenda facebook cannot just give out your private details to all and sundry ,it is an invasion of your privacy and is out and out illegal, all they can do is give out general details to other sites ,go into your account and deny their giving out your private stuff ,once you do that they will not DARE to over step the mark.leaving themselves open to being taken to law. He he ,that's some coffee shop ,no kettle on hand to make ordinary coffee ?,sounds a bit like a mickey mouse joint to me,and something they would never try up here ,they would land up with a wrecked shop after the geordies had finished showing their ire. i,m Glad you managed to get out and about anyway ,hubby too ,just as well with the weather looking like snow over there ,no golf in that when you can only see a flag ,with no hole to aim a putt at . Have you seen Perogies on sale in your markets ,a sort of little dumpling shaped like a tiny Cornish pasty sold frozen ,they reckon to make a lovely meal if put in a casserole dish with a dash of olive oil and covered with grated cheese sliced tomatoes and baked in the oven.i will be looking for them next time i go into the market ,or the local stores ,i really fancy trying them for a change. I had to go back to Currys and exchange the printer ,it would not let me connect to the usb cable even long enough to configure the wi fi connection ,so i took it back and exchanged it for a like for like printer ,but the new Kodak ,which went straight in ,no bother ,soi sent a rather curt message to H P telling them that i would never Buy H P again if they couldn't sort the bugs out of a new product before putting it on sale. We are still getting ready for spring by buying a couple of packets of seed a week. If you are still going to set some tomato seed away in large pots ,let me know and i will send some of my Sugar plum seeds down to you,you won't find a sweeter small tomato anywhere ,and i keep this seed every year to plant in spring ,this tomato being unavailable to buy anywhere these last twenty years. Well ,hope you are all having a nice R&R weekend ,be back later ,time to see to dinner ,Fred.xxx

Hi Everyone, well its been very cold but still dry ,so at least John got out again, at golf and I got over to my brothers who was off work with a knee problem,(seems to be a family problem) and called in Argos near him and goy their new catalogue. The back room is all cleared ready for the cushion floor to be laid tomorrow.I have not heard of the that you mentioned but it sounds lovelly. I know a few people who are not happy with Face book,we will just have to see what they do. Glad you got the printer sorted,i am still happy with mine. Did you get your breadmaker? I still have not used mine. Had nice peice of lamb at week end,it was lovelly yesterday and again today.John made a blancmange as well yesterday so it was like a Sunday dinner from my childhood.!! Have bought a couple of those cook in bags that you just add the spices to the meat ,we had a chicken one last week which was good ,and tomorrow I will do a sausage one. They were half price in Tesco, but not sure i would pay the full price. The doctors have my results from the scan,so I have an appointment on Friday afternoon. Have nothing planed this week which is just as well as it will take us ages to get the dining room sorted agin. take care Brenda

Evening to all ,brrrrrr it's plurry cold here today ,and the clouds look very snowified ,lol ,so we issss going nowhere for the time being . We are well stocked with food and heating wood ,and gas ,so if needs'be ,we two will just hibernate for the next week or so. We havn't bothered with the breadmaker just yet ,as we have our mixer which can do the heavy kneading work, and that will do for now . Bill has surfaced again and is resting at Swifts Creek while he works out his next move to avoid the heat ,which is up to 40c during the day ,but still darned cold at night ,which i remember well from my forces days in the gulf .The cat is driving me mad ,wanting her tea,see you tomorrow all ,Fred

Hi to anyone looking in,still very cold here ,but again brilliant sunshine, very misleading when you are in side, til you go out. John out playing golf., he has his thermals on and two other layers of cotton clothing !! but he will probably still be cold. Might make some leek and potato soup for lunch to help warm him up!!. Had our eye test yesterday ,and have both got new glasses to pick up in a couple of weeks. I am still moving things back to the dining room, and have still got to sort out what we do not really need,as we have loads of glasses and ornaments etc Hope the weather stays like this as we thought we would have a walk round Bury Market tomorrow, but the forecast does not look good ,its supposed to snow.!! Have a good weekend brenda

Good morning Brenda i am busy at the moment sorting out my puter after having done the housework for today. It is nice ans sunny here too at the moment ,but is still about -3 c,and is too cold to work outside for anything but emptying the hoover bin ,lol ,weather for the Penguins i reckon. Sounds like you could do with a boot sale to get rid of a lot of your unwanted stuff ,the pennies would be handy for your new puter. I saw my new one yesterday in Currys ,a nice little H P PG6 Series, with a 6 gig memory ,650 gig drive and a very handy little depression on the top left hand side of the on board mousepad ,2 taps on this locks the pad so that you can use an external mouse without the danger of mucking your work up by catching the pad with your wrist ,a great idea. Anyway ,i have ordered it ,but the fella i saw said to leave paying for it until Monday when the price will be down to £360 a £100 saving . Going to upload my tree now ,and put it on disc ,ready for next week ,when i will be bust getting the new ochre coloured lappy set up .he he ,i thought a change from black would be a change :-P. Catch you all later Fred. ;-).

Well done you Fred on the puter ,it was good of the guy to tell you to wait.!!!I have a bigger memory in my desk top now so its not doing bad, will be looking for a new one later if its not much good. Morning Brenda ,i think for once ,you got the raw end of the deal as regards the white stuff ,once i had cleared the first lot from my drive ,the stuff we got later was more like icing sugar dusting on top of a bun ,lol,,'Im up there must have heard my plea and sent it down to London as i asked, they seem to get the best of everything else ,so why not the snow ,lol. Most of my meat i get from my mates farm up the road ,but once in a while ,if i'm in the town i go into the Grainger market and by my liver ,steak ,kidney ,Hagggis, from my usual haunt ,and he also does the meat parcels ,which look okay ,so i hope yours turn out to be a good buy. Glad ,you got sorted okay with the puter ,sometimes you try to put a new module in an old computer and the mother board goes to hell, you have been lucky ,so i hope the performance is much improved. Just heard from Bill ,poor sod has just had another tent destroyed by heavy wind ,and is now thinking of moving north to better climes ,he isn't having much luck this year, with the extreem ,weather changes over there ,Queensland is now a declared disaster zone ,with water still rising. Have to go now and prepare the dinner ,steak and kidney pir ,roast tatties ,parsnip and onion ,yum. Catch you later all,Fred :-D.

Hi Brenda, Fred, JB, and Kathleen, Hope you all had a nice Hogmanay. Im back from the Wilderness. as the Bushfire season approaches. So Im Back in Swifts Creek, where I always seem to run into Gale force Winds. Despite tying my tent to my car, the fabric of the tent got ripped in several places. I moved into my emergency tents just in time to avoid a downpour. Anyway I will regroup tomorrow, and get a tougher tent on Tuesday. Glad to see you have your own Laptop Kathleen, and you Fred, upgrading again. I will be next to Upgrade, I have lost 1 laptop to flooding, and 2 hardrives to generator surges Notice you all going thru a cold spell in UK. hope you all survive the Icy Blast, especially you Kathleen. Afternoon all ,yep Brenda ,after a plurry cold night i decided to leave the missus in the warm and go into town on my own to go to the bank ,among other things . I still don't like to do any bank stuff on line ,you don't know who is watching ,apart from the government snoops and treasury agents ,lol, this lot know when ever you sneeze ,and which way you are facing at the time ,not that i have anything to hide ,but this country is getting like a communist state ,and i like my privicy. \anyway ,lol, the trip was well worth it ,having asked a little Chinese lady in a shop ,she told me there was a Polish Food Shop ,just over the traffic lights in Clayton Street ,and off i toddled to have a shufti .result at last ,Fred came out of said shop with two packets of Perogies ,which are now in the freezer . They will come in very handy as soon as i find a recipe to put them in .yum. Now i know where the shop is ,i can go whenever i wish ,it only being a five minute stroll from the market, and i can leave the missus with a cup of tea while i shuffle off ,he he. :-D. Don't know what is on the menu for tonight ,but i will have to be careful for a few weeks ,all these stir frys ,and little puddings have pushed my sugar levels up a bit ,so i have to go on the ol ,sugar no no diet for three weeks or so ,then i should be okay until the back end of the year. I will slip out later on and go get my new puter from Currys ,while i remember ,lol, leave it beyond then and it will go back into stock and i will loose out. :-P. must go and make a cuppa before i go out ,catch you later all ,Fred. :-D.

Mind you he will be going up to Clevelleys today to see his Mum and step father ,who had a bad fall at weekend. He will be making sure they areok for foodstuffs medicines etc. They had stocked up over a week ago ,but will need bread and milk etc. They only have one neighbour who can do any shopping for them, the others are all eldery like them. The family would love them to come back to Manchester, and have even made enqueries about places for them to live ,but they will not listen!! Hope you enjoy the stuff you got from the polish shop we have a few near here as there are a large number of east european emigrations near by!!. My legs have not been good the last few days ,hope its just because of the really cold weather and not a proper deteriation/ I have had a phone call telling me I have an appointment on April 5th to see the specialist ,and its at the local hospital so I have not got far to go Better get my ironing done while I can,and am not in anyones way!!. afternoon to all ,going nowhere today ,the whole area is like a skating rink with the temperature down to -3c at 7am this morning and has only climbed to +1c by 3 pm,loads of accidents on the roads ,and more than few on pavements,so ,indoors is the best place to be. What a day ,iv'e had lol, first thing was i was unable to get on to the net at all this morning with by broadband down ,then my yahoo messenger went down ,and i finished up two hours into my day before i got my puter up and running. No matter ,things are now sorted out again ,and i am now running my new laptop to see how it is performing ,and i have to say ,it's veeeeery fast and a lot smarter to look at ,but also ,as regards email ,there are still some bugs to sort out ,but hey ,you can't have everything at once . :-D. Hope your hospital date goes your way Brenda ,and hope the old pegs start to settle down for you ,i suppose that when they get that nerve sorted ,things will settle down for you again. Be back later people ,i am running somewhat behind time today he he ,Fred ;-)
