Afternoon all.we have had a good day weather wise managed to get some washing done and out on the line.Physio went ok last night have somemore excercies,so we will see how they go ,also had a sort of massage on my back which was to loosen the parts that have become stiff, which is what is supposed to be causing the pain. Not felt much difference today but Rome wasn't built in a day.!! We had a nice afternoon yesterday when I went to lunch with my friend, the place was really busy ,as it was Spicey Wednesday when all the meals on offer are spicy ,curries, piri prir mexicsn etc.we had a piri piri chicken and it was a bit too spicy for me but my friend said it was ok for her. Had coffe and ice cream at home needed the ice cream to cool my lips!! Hope all your visits are going well. Have a good weekend. Brenda

afternoon troops ,and any visitors, tis only Fred reporting in after he took the family back home this pm,and getting them some shopping in on the way back to Fawdley. The house is clean but upside down after the useless bu***r moved out on Friday but it won't take a lot of sorting to get it back to normal. Must admoit though ,that it is nice to get our house back again ,and only a week until we go down to see the sis' in law ,in Fleetwood, nice ,time to chill out before getting the house ,and garden back into some sort of trim before the winter sets in. I picked the last of the plums a while ago ,halved them ,put them in a plastic container and put them down in the freezer ,lol ,we have plans for them ,in a franzipan dough and a pastry case for Christmas. The grandson is going to give me a hand this next week to lift the rhubarb out of it's bucket ,and place it in the huge urn we got for the Fruit tree that died off and then place it back into the corner to grow on. The boxes of onion and parsnips we are going to move off the patio leaving it clear for table and chairs for the summer [if we ever get one] ,he he,the boxes are going to go in the border outside the back door ,along with the Rosemary bush and chive bush, wild garlic shrubs putting the whole border over to veggies and herbs. We did very well with the beans this year ,and look forward to replanning next years veggie patch to get a better yet bean crop, which have refilled the freezers ready for the coming winter months. The Christmas bird is already been ordered from my mate with the farm down the road who has branched out this last year, into pigs as well as poultry so i will get a nice pork joint from him too. We have ordered a five bird roast from him, starting with a pea hen ,and going through the sizes up to finishing with a turkey inside the goose,,a touch of luxury for us ,but i'm sure the family will enjoy it. Coupled with the home made corned beef joint that i do every year now ,we will be well catered for this year ,lol,so ,any potential visitors for the repast had better get their order in quick ,lol ;-). The grandson has left us the key for the house in Lyneham so that we can get away for a few days towards Christmas, which will be nice and quiet for us after living in a town most of the year, The villagers were worried for a good while over the coming closure of the airfield and their loss of livelihood with the loss of jobs ,and hurt to the shops and other small outlets in Wotton Basset ,but he grandson has told me that the villagers can relax ,the base is being kept open for the Army to use as a training base,so future jobs are assured ,and the shops and whatever will not lose out ,and ,in fact may become even busier than ever ,so ,a nice out come for all. Nice t hear that things are getting better for Dorothy's family as well, and i hope they will continue in the same way ,if not better. Going to close for now ,we have heaps of clearing up to do ,but are too tired to any more today,so it's a case of so much a day till we get ourselves back to square one ,inside ,and out. Take care all ,back again tomorrow ,but i hope a bit later ,i need a lay in ,lol.Fred. :-D

Morning all, hope you are all having better weather than we are,its very wet very grey and very windy.Just pleased I have not got to go out anywhere.!!! Hope Dorothy and her friend are enjoying the tennis and their visit. together. Going to sort out the bedding box later we have lots of pillow cases and a few sheets we don't use and even a quilt cover that got caught on something and ripped ,have tried patching and sewing it but it did not work, Keeping the physio excerisies going and feeling a little relief from them. Finding it hard to sleep on my back or left side after sleeping on my right for goodness knows how long.!! Have been making a few pans of soup and have finally got John to see that they are good for the waist and the pocket. Hope you are settling back to just the two of you Fred ,or is your granson still with you.? What date do you go to Fleetwood? We have about 12/13 weeks till we go to tenerife.Just hope my leg is a lot better by then.so I can do the walks we like. Have my neices wedding in November so must get the diet going properley!! Morning our Brenda, the soup sounds a good idea ,as always ,and properly made is a meal in itself if you slice a nice fresh French stick or batton to go with it,yum.and of course ,as you say ,good for the waistline ,and pocket. Sean and wife leave today as he has to be on camp tomorrow afternoon to recieve his going away present, lol, one triple injection that i remember so well ,ouch, and ouch again. i have been busy this morning preparing his Christmas dinner ,and stuffing ,which will have to last him until he comes home march ,next year. This afternoon i have a job and a half on ,the clearing out of the upstairs freezer so that i can defrost it ,bring all the old stuff to the top ,in preperation for getting all the Christmas stuff in ,and leaving the very top of the freezer clear for the Christmas meat that will all come from my friends farm up the road, The reason for the getting in of the christmas gear is simply that the fuel offer is on atMorrisons this week ,so we get all this stuff in before going down to Fleetwood this next Sunday so that we can fill the car up at the discount price before coming home. Later on this month we will go down to help Sean pack all his stuff into crates ,so that he is ready to shift it to Brize as soon as he comes home off tour, the new house not being ready for four months. I will take the time to get My Pics of the new Royal Wotton Basset while down there ,before the Raf move out of Lyneham.. I feel a lot better for the local villagers and the town now ,knowing that the Army is taking Lyneham over as a training base ,so the whole place will still be a forces economy area still ,so no job ,or shop losses for the local people:-). ASs far as i know ,the runways will stay active too ,allowing the raf to fly equipment straight in for the army units ,taking the strain off the many country roads in the area. Have to take some pics of the R a F housing estate and area too ,because there are many happy memories to keep ,from the last two years ,as well as some from many years ago when i was a training sprog in wiltshire and Oxfordshire. Hope everyone is okay ,and hope Dorothy and family continue to be the bearers of good news about the injuries sustained just lately. Catch you all later peoples,Fred. :-D

Cooooo ,things get better ,lol,hi to Bill,Brenda.Dorothy ,and anyone else who turns up . No time to get on the comupter this morning .by the time i had picked the rubbish up in the back garden and putting it into the bin, wrapped the orange tree up ,which i was still waiting to deliver once all the company had gone home ,it was time to set off to the station. Orange tree delivered safely ,we had a good look around Sunderland ,went into Wilkinsons to peruse their sale gear ,it was time to come home again I have taken all the beans ,calabrese, and haulms of the used cabbage out, blanched the last of the broadbeans ,runners and dwarf climbers, cleaned out the whole bottom corner of the garden ,leaving just the soil and buckets ,ready for next season. That's it for the day anyway ,i isss now packered and have sat down with a tin of my strong lager, waiting for the soup to come to the simmer ,french stick at the ready ,lol, we may even settle for a crumble pudding for afters. Catch everyone later some time has been set aside this evening for the packing of the cases.,and then it's an early night for us both. Fred. :-D

Hi Brenda and Badger, good to see you again. Brenda, been back in NZ for a while then escaped the Christchurch Quake, headed for Qld, but floods beat me to it so I ended up Volunteering for the floods in North Victoria, Living in a tent, and a bit of gold dredging. Back in Bairnsdale, near LakesEntrance. Never got back to Mornington, since my bus crash. Hope to get a flat down this way before I cant move any more. or return to NZ. who knows ?. Anyway Ill be around for a few months at least. Bill in Oz <3

What you like Brenda ,lol, still ,i cant really tell you off ,because i am forever doing the same thing myself ,yesterday being a prime example .. Up with the larks Fred was ,out in the garden at six ,clearing the old stuff out of the buckets ,crops frozen down by seven, bit of housework ,then off to Sunderland to deliver the orange tree to it's new home [the Winter Gardens at the local museum and Park, where it will among the other citrus trees and Banana trees in the tropical garden. It will be a bit of a miss but it is now too big to bring indoors for the winter ,and the central heating would not be ideal for it,anyway ,the head gardener said i could go and see it any time i wished ,so i will hold him to that . As aid ,on my last message ,by the time we got home i was tired ,but instead of sitting down sensibly ,i carried on pottering about ,and finished up like you did ,tired out ,sore ,and stiff [smacks OWN wrist ,lol] Only one day to go now ,Hissy suspicious at us getting the travel cases out,and then going upstairs with the other boss ,hindering ,oh ,sorry Hissy.HELPING with the packing. We are only home a week until we go down To Lyneham to spend a week with Sean before he flies out on his new tour of duty. We watched the latest repat' last night at Brize Norton ,and noticed that the welcome of the local people will not change ,so the powers that be are out of luck ,it will carry on until they come to their senses and get all of our lads out of there . This is where Sean goes on his return home in six months so i will soon become used to the shops in Carterton again and seeing other repatriations to his new base ,instead of the other one. Time to find some tea now ,after i feed the furry pest ,who is impatiant to get at her fish tea ,lol. catch you later people ,hope all will have a good weekend and i will report in from Fleetwood Sunday after noon after my fish supper ,lol :-D. Fred.

Afternoon all,we have had a dry day with some high winds and very grey skies but not the rain that the forecasters predicted!! Could have got the washing on the line and dried really but I was a bit causious and put it in the drier. It will not need ironing now its out of the drier and folded so thats one job saved. Did not realise you are in Fleetwood this weekend Fred ,thought it was later this month.Hope the weather stays dry for you and the very high winds do not materialise. I had bought some frozen sardines from the freezer shop last week and we had them last night ,they came in a tray to either bake or grill them in. The cats did not move from the cooker while they were cooking and we ended up having to put them out while we had tea ,never seen them so mithering for anything even chicken !! we saved them two small ones for their tea and they really got stuck into them . Bill my mate from Mornington was over early this year as her mum was not well. She was only here for 3 weeks and I did not see much of her we eamil a couple of times a week ,They are both sort of semi retired and have bought a caravan to do some touring ,last week they went to Wagga Wagga to see some relations and I know they have been to Lakes Entrance in the past. Hope you are ok where you are and ok health wise as you will have read I am not as good as I was and have alot of trouble with arthritis and a trapped nerve in my back, Having physio which does help but I keep jumping the gun and trying too do to much too soon.!!!! Can't seem to stay still and let it get better on its own!! Hope Dorothy has enjoyed her friends visit and the tennis, Take care see you tomorrow Brenda However my mates are getting older and one now as dementia and another has

Morning our Brenda ,here i isssss ,sat in the van on our first morning here ,lol ,no chance of getting out far today because the wind is going to get a lot stronger until late today ,and Liz finds it catches her breathe ,not good for her. Like it or not Lass ,you will HAVE to let your body heal itself by sitting back and letting it do so ,the more you kick up and try to do too much straight away ,the longer it will take ,believe me ,i have been there ,done it ,and worn the tee shirt..Bet your puddy tats enjoyed their fish ,lol,Hissy loves hers.so ,we normally get her white fillets ,and defrost one a week for her by placing it in a saucepan ,and pouring boiling water over it,lid on ,and left for three minutes ,job done. ,time for brekkie ,but ,being stuck indoors ,i will be back later.Fred. :-D

Hi Brenda,We have been to Blackpool, lol, what a mess it is in ,the high winds have brought sand and spume [sea foam] all over the roads and promenade .up the windows of the shops ,and over all the cars [ours included ] while it was parked at Little Bisholm where we parked to get the tram in to Blackpool centre. The sea was still breaking over the new sea wall ,which makes mew wonder if the council has made a mistake in not building it at least a metre higher, what happens in ten years time when the sea levels will be a lot higher. There is no chance of getting these trams running as they should have been before at least spring next year ,and i reckon the town has lost millions in the tourist trade ,so i can see the prices going through the roof to try making up for the losses this year. The storm certainly hasn't helped ,coming at the end of a poor season, and by the time we got a tram back up the road to the car ,the poor thing was covered in salt and foam , and after the clean it had before we came down ,i wasn't too pleased with myself for not checking the tide before parking where i did ,smacks wrist ,hard. We have company for tea tonight ,chicken casserole ,roast potatoes, and red onion ,with parsnips ,cauliflower ,and leeks in a cheese sauce ,so i hope the caravan oven is up to it ,lol. Catch you later all Fred. :-D
