The weather was awful this morning for the remembrance march in town…wind rain and bitterly cold

Not long back from the Remembrance service at the town's War memorial.
4 National anthems to start proceedings today :-0
We usually have 3, - our own and then those of France and Belgium, as representatives from our twin towns there always come to lay a wreath.
The Channel Tunnel is not far from here, so it makes travel arrangements more possible.
Today we had visiting Canadian servicemen, so we had the Canadian anthem too.

Hundreds there, including lots of young people on parade with their various groups.
Always moving to see the elderly ex-servicemen proudly marching, as they remember their comrades.
Children from the town primary school read out the names of those commemorated on the memorial, as the various wreaths were placed around it's base.

What a bleak day, although not quite as raw as some days.
Daughter and I sat and watched War Horse this afternoon. Seen it before, but there are often parts that I think ' I don't remember that bit'.

Just had an unexpected call from Sharron's OH.
it is 2 years today that he found she'd died in the night, so I think he just wanted to chat <3
Ages since I heard from him, but I guess anniversaries make us think of shared memories.........
