Better than that, I found which ship she went out on, her two marriages one bigamous which was eventually legalised, from that one my mums half brother and lots of other family as a result, I was able to identify a child in a photo as my mum which he know nothing about until I told him it was his half sister, he was 68 at the time. |

That is so sad. Have you been able to track her in Australia to see what happened to her? |
|||
|
ZZzzz | Report | 29 Jun 2023 14:15 |
nameslessone, it is similar to me, my Mum is illegitimate and all the information I have found is through certificates etc, her mother put her in an orphanage when she was four or five and left for Australia not coming back here for her. |

Not just her but none of her (the mother) but none of her relatives. |

Yes that's true. Maybe she didn't ever want to be traced then. |

Don’t forget that you can’t trace anyone through dna if no one has taken a test. |

Obviously the mum never had anymore children then otherwise the DNA would have shown that? |

I've enjoyed all these programmes but would love to know which DNA database they use as it seems to be very comprehensive. It says that Ancestry sponsor these programmes so presume it is theirs. Obviously a lot more time consuming research than they show but lovely to see people getting answers at last. |
