For some reason I immediately had a mental picture of a scene from South Pacific. But sailors in bell bottoms were very much a part of my teens. Which years are you talking here 60s or 70s? It was all hearsay to us in the sticks! |

I think I'm a bit younger - I was at school when the mini came in. |

I am talking about the 60's here Ann. I was also at school Maggie, but it did not stop me 'looking the biz' in my eyes, after school and at the weekends. |

I was born in 61 so a bit young to remember the mini. I wasnt allowed to wear makeup until i was 15 in the mid 70's. But we had bell bottom trousers and i had a suede long coat with the fur too. |

The trouble with rolling up the skirts ( we had pleated skirts) was the made you very fat around the waist. |

Ah I was a teenager and at school in the 50s married age 20 in 1960 and a Mum in 1961. So fashion was something mainly viewed in the press. Although I did wear minis. |

:-D :-D :-D MG the spies were out from my school so we had to wait until getting well away from the gates before doing that. Our school was split between two buildings so we had to roll them back down before we passed those gates. The school prefects were snitches too and unfortunately I used to get 2 off them on my train and bus home :-| :-| :-| :-|. |

Just remembered the Union jack style clothing of the mods in the 60s and their reefer jackets. I never wore them as I chose to wear Levis and Leather jackets :-D :-D |

I always wore Levis too. They were like cardboard. not like the soft denims you get now. Spent hours scrubbing them to get that 'worn in' look. :-D :-D |

I remember buying a pair and sitting in a bath of cold water to shrink them. I had lovely indigo skin for ages afterwards :-D :-D :-D. I used to like Lee Coopers as well and they had a great shop in the Edgware Road just near where I used to work. I remeber having jackets and jeans to match in all sorts of colours |
