….. but it ain’t got what we got, Belle. ;-)

I used to love Mum’s rhubarb and apple crumbles but my own efforts pale into insignificance when compared to hers. <3

Daughter made the crumble, but we were so full with chicken, roasted vegetables and couscous that we haven't tasted it yet.

I usually use fresh fruit, but we found frozen shop-bought rhubarb in the freezer, so thought we'd use it up.

Interesting Joy... I don't remember my Mum ever making crumble. She frequently made fruit tart on a plate with whichever fruit was in season.
Maybe this was the Welsh way, as my grandmother and aunts did the same.

My Mum used to make plate pies too.

Apple pies were favourite. Loved the single fruit, but she often used to make some with sultanas, Dutch Apple Pie and sometimes others with cloves.

I wonder how Island got on the other day.
