Well the cleaner arrived here prompt at 10am as promised by DPD. Once I had fought the hard cardboard box (beautifully packed but so hard for my poor hands). The pieces are now spread on my work top identified and waiting assembly (not my strong point. what they don't do is warn you that it comes with some charge already in it so when I picked the main part up to turn it over to identify the number as it asks you to record it, it made me really jump as it started up as, not having identified the power switch I had inadvertently touched it.) |

All I feel now is sore painful hands and totally frustrated. The handle is in two parts of four pieces (the handle collapses for storing if necessary). I fitted the two upper pieces together, no problem and then tried the lower pieces. they are supposed to click into place and will only go in one way to fit together. So far it has taken all my strength and it is within a MM of clicking into place but I just haven't so far had the strength to do it. I am going to have to give up for now and try and re-gain some strength in my hands. I have also read ahead and I saw that it mentioned the filter housing, but there is no diagram to tell me where the filter housing is. |

OK I finally managed to get the two parts to click into place but not without a little piece of help from a bit of WD40 on a cloth wiped round the inside at the top, once I did that it slid in and clicked no problem. So the handle is now attached to the machine. And I know how it works. |

Ann, the manual is online on the Gtech website - it looks as though the filter is inside the dust collecting bin. |

The filter is inside the plastic dust collector. Take it out as if you are emptying it and you will see the filter inside the unit, it pulls out for washing.I bought a spare one for mine as it takes quite a while to dry when washed. Hope this helps if not get back to me :-D |

Sorry, been out all day. Glad you got sorted, you shouldn't need to dismantle it again. The dust cylinder can sometimes be a bit stiff to pull out and push in, but the WD40 trick is good. |

I think you can get the perfume inserts on Amazon but I have never bothered with them |

Thanks for the replies, just picked them all up. I will look for the filter when up properly and dressed. |

The first attachment sounds like the one for the stairs, if it has a rotating brush. I often leave this one on, it is handy for picking up crumbs from any surface. The long tube is good for skirting boards, corners behind furniture, ceiling cobwebs, window sills. My attachments just pull on/push off, but can also be a bit of a snug fit. |

There is also a Crevice tool stored up inside the handle of the handheld :-) |

thanks, all working now and I have put it on charge. The long one (18 inches just looks like one of those things that you use to dust, hand help the other is like a scoop shape with a pin hole in it. it is about 4 inches long. I can't see where it should attach and there is no mention of it in the booklet. I am impressed with the suction. |

OK apparently looking back at the advert the small scoop shaped item is part of the extra (free worth £20) speed cleaning kit and I assume the long brush which is longer than the one advertised is a hand held brush for cobwebs It is not the same as the one on the advert. I still don't know what the small thing is or where it attaches. If somebody can look at the advert for the AirRam Platinum you can see it there. Meanwhile it was the cleaner I wanted and that is great. |

The guff says 'use the speed clean handle to convert your vac to a handheld upholstery cleaner. The handle conveniently attaches to the vac ......stays lightweight in your hand .....' |

You are right why indeed. I shall just use it and the bits as I see fit I think. sometimes the blurb is more confusing than helpful. thanks for your input where would we be without GR?? :-) :-) |

I have just seen the advert for your cleaner in a magazine Ann and the bit you mentioned is to convert the cleaner to hand held. Take off the long handle and clip on the small one in it's place to use for upholstery, stairs etc. |

Ah thank you LG. Yes that makes sense although I do have an excellent rather old now, Goblin hand held cleaner I use on stairs etc although it is wired of course. :-) |
