Armed Forces day today - according to one of our news programmes.

Just read back through yesterday’s thread. Dad was in the RN before, during and a little after WW2 and saw plenty of action.

I was a war baby born in Liverpool, too young to recall anything but Mum sometimes spoke about horrendous times and I can certainly remember using bomb sites as shortcuts to various places.

On to cheerful things - sun is out and it looks like it could be a promising day. :-D

Can't eat things that are high in carbs and I don't have salt on my food. I know what the manufacturers are up to - adding more sugar or sweetener to the sweets/chocolates as the salt takes away the excessive taste of the sweetness

Had not heard anything about alignment of planets but the heavens had opened here last night - thunder and lightning, the lot. The telly went off for a short while.

Cricket, however, took place so I dropped OH off at the ground then had coffee with Dtr. <3

We lost by two runs !!! :-(

Salted caramel at this time in the morning! I’ll be wanting some all day now. :-(

This week one of the questions in a quiz show was, ‘Who invented the Magnum?’

The answer was Roger Moore !

Who knew that? And I am an ice cream fan!

I googled and found another name (an ice-cream maker) but it appears that more than one source thinks it was Roger Moore who suggested it so you’re in good company. :-D
