When I said I won’t have chemo and they gave me the 19th my for the scan the oncologist was away for two days . He came back and answered the emails they had sent and discussed it with the scan people and it was agreed to get it done sooner

So I had the PET scan done last Friday the 6th

Results will be available this week and I know the Dr will the discuss it with his team at the weekly patient review and then get back to me

So although glad it’s been done but now very apprehensive on the results and where we go

But am feeling well in myself and getting around the house more and I do think my hair is growing a bit

Was left with a stubble after my daughter shaved it off and this is certainly longer but the bald bits arent sprouting yet

I am pleased that you have had your scan and don’t have to wait so long. The waiting must be the worst thing for you. Once you know, you can just get on with things. <3 <3 <3 <3

Update

So had the PET scan and saw the oncologist last Thursday

It confirms the node is cancerous . Apparently if it spreads it’s usually sideways but in 2% of cases it goes upwards , mine has gone up!

Was told last time even if it is cancerous we aren’t at the end of the road because there are treatments

But last week it was we can’t operate to remove the node as it too near the main aorta and other organs
We have other chemos but success rate is 5 /10% so unlikely to be successful

We won’t do radiotherapy as unlikely to work!

We will just monitor with scans and if it spread maybe we might zap spread with targeted radiotherapy which I doubt !

So just see your family and enjoy the summer weather!

In other words its terminal but no timeline


Not what we wanted to be told tbh but at least it’s not false hope that we had before

I feel well at the moment and am just going to enjoy each day as it’ comes

Roll out the rose wine too as it’s been some time that I have been able to have a few glasses
