It usually is desert from Africa Island, although we also get dust from very dry topsoil in Africa as well. Just got warnings to stay in or wear masks if you go out.

Pat, I've only witnessed desert dust twice and in recent years. The first time it happened a bloke from round the corner accused my fella of sanding LOL that would have been some sander to cover all the cars in the area.
The second time we were away inland boating so had a panoramic view of the reddening sky - spooky!
