Two months ago .out of the blue ,I had a small post menopausal bleed

No pain and it wasn’t much and cleared the same day so thought it was a spot that burst that we can get “down there !”

A month later it happened again so straight to the docs the same day and referred on fast track to hospital

Was seen within days and several tests and MRI and it was confirmed on Friday I have endometrial cancer

Having a ct scan next Tuesday to check nothing elsewhere and then it’s a hysterectomy

Doctor was you did right not ignoring it and getting it looked at early

All signs are it’s contained within the womb so once it’s out hopefully all will be well


Soooo if you find a lump , have unusual bleeds from anywhere ,have unexplained symptoms of something not right then don’t ignore hoping it will go away as early detection could be a life saver

Look after yourselves folks and that includes you men too :-0

I can’t fault my doctors or the local hospital fast track service

Saw the doctor Friday evening and was at the hospital for gynaecology check the following Thursday .

Due to my age they couldn’t complete the physical check so MRI the following Tuesday

Then day surgery to get into the womb to take tissue samples

Taken two weeks to confirm the diagnoses that was suspected from the initial check

We are so blessed to have the NHS :-)

Oh Shirley, very sorry to hear this but so glad your Drs were on your case so quickly and got a diagnosis. Hope your operation goes well.

I am surprisingly calm even though cancer was my dread after watching our dad go through it with prostrate cancer .

Several in our family have also passed with different types of cancer so it’s always been a fear for me

My thinking now is ok let’s just get this dealt with and over and dusted !

My granny died of this aged 60.
\your doctor has been excellent but do not brook any delay.

The consultant rang me Friday to discuss the results and getting the CT scan done asap and then hopefully discussing at the next weekly consultants meeting

He said then will be the hysterectomy

Only about an hour later the scan department rang to say he had requested an urgent appointment for the scan which they could do at 6.30 pm Tuesday

So very quick appointments set up all round

Am expecting,all being well with the scan ,to have the operation fairly soon after

Shirley ............ sorry to hear this, but so glad that you went to the Drs quickly, and then everything moved fast.

Everything will be fine now.

I had the same attitude as you .......... let's get this over and done with, and get on life .......... when my first breast cancer was found back in 1995. It turned out to be larger than first thought (breast tissue can be hard to "see" through even with the best machines), so I had to go to a mastectomy .................... but everything was over and done with in 6 weeks, with no further treatment needed.

I was fast tracked the whole way through.

I couldn't fault BC's health system then (or now). And all I had to pay was $50 for 5 nights in the hospital bed :-D

It helps when the doctors have a good "bedside manner", and explain things to you, especially what the results and consequences could or will be.

that's just what happened to me back in 1995 (and again, a second time, in 2011).

I had absolutely no symptoms, no pains, no lumps, doctors couldn't feel anything ....... in my case, thank heavens for mammograms.

But to get that phone call from the doctor 3 days after having my first screening mammogram????

Let's get this over and done with!!!!
