So, 'Freedom Day' has arrived, clubs were open at 12am and filled.

"Currently nightclubs and other crowded venues are only encouraged to ask clubbers to show proof of vaccination, a negative test result or immunity" - do they mean like at the EURO's - an allegedly organised event?
Latest figures show 35% of 18 to 30-year-olds have not had their first jab, and many haven't had their second.

Then we're told that, in September, no-one will be able to go to a club unless they're vaccinated.

"People attending nightclubs and other venues where large crowds gather in England will need to be fully vaccinated from the end of September, the government says."

Why wait?

Do you remember the Christmas lockdown?
On 16 December, Johnson said it would be 'inhuman' to have a lockdown over Christmas.
On the 19 December, he announced the lockdown.
Parliament closes for Christmas on 16 December, so MPs had 3 days to get to their favourite house - or even abroad for Christmas.

What appears to be cynicism on the part of the onlooker, is, in reality, understanding how this government works - ie, 'me first'.

Maggie, 'it's causing a division' seems to be the latest catchphrase on the band wagon but, oddly, only comes from one side. hmmm...
Saw a cracker the other day, on FB where else? From one of the 'get on with our lives' camp - something like "In the last five years we've had so much causing a divde, Brexit, covid, womens rights....' They walk among us :-0

I've just had a 'discussion' with someone (on the internet) who has decided
'It’s time to get our lives back.' ad she's 'Fed up with facts and figures', so she intends to do what she wants, as it's all causing division.

I merely asked her if it was okay for others to do what they want, and, in respect of their views, would she keep 2 metres away from everyone, in case they didn't share her opinion?
She wasn't a happy bunny.
It appears her views are the 'right' ones anyone else, with a different view is causing division! . :-D :-D :-D

Pity those who work in shops etc - there's going to be some bolshi so and so's out to practice 'their rights'.

According to Prof Neil Ferguson 'It is “almost certain” that cases will hit 100,000 a day and hospitalisations 1,000 a day, up from 55,000 and 740 a day currently.'

He went on to say; 'There is no certainty, but 100,000 cases a day are 'almost inevitable' and 'the real question is do we get to double that, or even higher?'

This means even more people who need regular hospital treatment won't get it. :-(

I’m not sure what the hospitals are like elsewhere but several days ago I heard our local hospital was full of covid patients again. Our neighbour an ICU Sister, beyond retirement age but who stayed on when covid hit last year, worked eight nights straight because of the numbers of staff who were having to isolate. Something I wouldn’t like to do if I were just over 70.

Boris and Co will manipulate the isolation rules to suit themselves as far as coming into contact with the Health Minister is concerned which would infuriate me if I were still a worker and having to isolate.

ZZzz I go out (carefully), but not too often.
I'm currently unemployed, and, quite frankly, would rather scrape by than get a job at the moment, apart from which, when I started work, I was told I'd be retiring at 60, not 66 :-|
Fortunately, the Council started using an algorithm to recruit people - which would explain why so many jobs are re-advertised. The algorithm also doesn't understand 'O' levels.

I also agree, the Government have resorted to a sort of 'herd immunity', but the cynic in me thinks 'They and their 'chums' have got £millions from PPE 'contracts' etc (many of which weren't fulfilled), I wonder what their tactics are now?'

They're actiing like it's all over - furloughing has been stopped, sick pay is stll negligable, all of a sudden the unemployed can live on £20 a week less etc.
They're like children, who are bored with this 'game'.

Well, they didn't have time to a lot of the usual testing on humans because everything moved so fast!

It just doesn't make any sense what so ever to me, I even think it is some sort of experiment, testing on humans because testing on animals is frowned on/illegal.

from this long distance, I also wondered about allowing attendance at Ascot, even if they were supposed to "socially distance", and full attendance at the football games and Wimbledon just seemed to asking for it.

The Canadian governments aren't even looking at announcing what sotr of attendance will be allowed at our hallowed games (ie ice hockey and Canadian football (CFL)
) until later, even though the CFL season starts in about 2 weeks. (it runs July/August to November/December).

What I found strange, was it was the 'unexpunged' version!

I don't know what the plan is if there is one but I'm scared to go out anywhere now even locally. the school is a stones throw away and the son of someone just up the road has to isolate.

Until the cold hard fact hits them that it is the current lives of many which manufacture the goods that produce the wealth :-|

Unfortunately, for our Government, they're not in a position to blame anyone else - not that that will stop them!
Johnson, Hancock, Gove and Javid - to name but a few MPs have all caught it.
What happened to the 'common sense' the rest of us were told to use?

The football, and come to that, tennis, and horse racing didn't go ahead despite what the Government said - they went ahead with full approval - even though we were in 'lockdown' at the time.

You'd almost think that making money for the few, (shareholders etc) was more important than the lives of the many!

I have always thought there will be another lock down in part caused by the football and tennis fans going to those places not masked nor social distanced.

Freedom Day, a bit like a child putting its head under the blankets thinking, 'If i can't see it then it doesn't exist.
