Our collection is done along the back lane .......... OH has to move the wheelies, boxes and bags to the end of the driveway so they sit neatly positioned just at the edge of our property and away from any obstructions, so the automated garbage and compost trucks can lift the bins and empty them in to the truck. |

I don't think we have any automotive bin collecting trucks in UK, If we have I have not heard of them. I assume your bins have to be in a precise place Sylvia or maybe there is some sort of radio connection between them and the truck. I remember many years ago somebody saying computers will do the work of humans and one day we won't need humans, Well!....... |

Ah I misinterpreted the automative bit I had the impression of some sort of robotic contraption on the side of the truck not a driver with a lever :-D that comes of seeing a video of my granddaughter receiving a food delivery from a robot from the next estate to theirs |

our bins used to be emptied on the monday, and if a bank holiday, overtime was needed on the tuesday...so they eventually moved our collection day to Tuesday..... |

Well the 'might / might not' communication arrived today, - only an A4 folded leaflet this time, but wonder of wonders, our 'new' collection day is Tuesday. |

We received our new schedule for compost/recycle pickup a couple of days ago ......... it covers the next 14 months. The new city calendar for garbage has not yet arrived. |
