I had the Oxford one

Set up was very efficient and was in and out in ten minutes

Told to sit in the car for 15 mins afterwards as I was driving to make sure I had no adverse reaction


At the moment no sore arm or any side effects

I was a bit worried you’d get snowed off. Memories of the big Kentish snowfalls.

My Mum had the Oxford jab today. Same as Shirley she'd arrived a little early and was in/out and home by the actual appt time so less than 30 mins inc travel...it was only 5 mins from home :-)

It would have been quicker but she had to walk slowly through the car park because of ice :-D She was very impressed at how well they did it all; well they've been doing it for a few weeks now so they've ironed out the bumps it seems. She was driven there so no wait time straight home and hours later when I spoke to her she was feeling good.

Caroline ...... glad that your Mum also got the vaccine.

We've been told in my province that they will start vaccinating over-80s at the beginning of February, and hope to be finished with them (and all the groups they're already doing) by the end of March, then will start on the over-70s at the beginning of April.

That's always assuming that we get the vaccines as promised. Pfizer first announced 2 weeks ago that they would be cutting shipments to Canada by 50% as they did reno's to increase production in Belgium, then they changed last week to say no vaccine delivery at all in the last week of January.

We can blame the EU and Boris for that .......... they both apparently exerted great pressure to keep vaccines for themselves. :-P Obviously there was some sort of inducement or pressure to cause Pfizer to cancel contracted shipments elsewhere.

Moderna might also have some cut backs as they need to be able to increase production lines.

Was talking to my sister in Abbotsford this afternoon

We do messenger every Sunday afternoon and I was a bit late for our usual chat so she wondered where I was

She was saying it’s the Pfizer and moderna one over there but as she is just 71 she has been told it’s April earliest before she can expect her jab

I was “well it’s almost worth being an old girl ! “

Yes, Shirley, it is currently only the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines here ...... Health Canada is still assessing the Oxford vaccine that you got, because they are not yet satisfied with the results that they are receiving. HC wants more proof that the Oxford vaccine is safe.

As Sylvia said no vaccines coming here right now from Pfizer. Ontario so far has only started doing frontline workers, seniors homes and First nations. The general public have a little wait until we get our shots :-) We're set up for the jabs just nothing to inject!

So today am a bit orf!

Bit headachy and nauseous but it’s a common side effect


Am taking it easy . Put the rubbish out for tomorrow collection and now watching tv along with checking in on genes :-)

The Oxford is having that effect apparently,my daughters work colleagues 4 out of 6 have had or taking off.through side effects,one or two still dont feel 100% but less effected.

OH and I had the Pfizer one nine days ago and neither of us had any problems other than an aching arm but headache and nausea were listed as possible side effects. OH’s arm ache went after a couple of days but my jabbed arm still feels sort of “heavy” though it’s not really painful. I hope you feel better very quickly Shirley.

I am just slightly concerned about the length of time between jabs as there seems to be a lot of disagreement about this. The leaflet we were given specifically says 21 days, the government are saying 84 and others are saying it should be brought down to 42 days. The doctor who did my jab said they would contact me about mid-April for the second one “unless the Government changes it’s mind yet again”!

We had the Oxford one and our leaflet says the second dose can be given between 4 and 12 weeks after the first.

It seems to vary depending on which vaccine you are given.

I had the Oxford Vaccine on Saturday morning,as yet only side effect is arm slightly stiff.
