Not heard of them either. Sound a bit good though don't they?

This might even inspire me to make a gingerbread, which we can eat with some vanilla ice-cream.

Have negotiated with OH to make me some scotch eggs if I make some more bean sausagemeat.

I don't like chilli, either, Sharron! :-D
Having said that, I love my daughter's chilli con carne - but she doesn't make it hot - and the fact that I haven't made it may make it more palatable. :-D

JoyLouise, I had to look up gingerbread ice cream sandwiches - I'd never heard of them.
Apparently Walls make them, and Sainsbury's sold them.
I say sold, because they're out of stock.
However, there's a Facebook page called 'Bring back the Kemps Gingerbread Man Ice Cream Sandwiches' :-D :-D

Tell you what I have not been able to get this year from any of the grocery stores in our region - gingerbread ice cream sandwiches which I really like. They came in a red box and were Walls I think.

I didn't like ice-cream, because it was too cold and would swap my ice-cream to come for somebody else's butter beans.

Think I still have a baby's palate and still don't like anything very sophisticated. Can't cope with chilli, too hot for Dainty Gob!

Mutton stew, creamy mashed potatoes and butter beans - sounds good to me!

Not sure how watery I could take the stew though!

Your recipe sounds very inventive...

I haven't had butter beans for years.
Sadly, I always associate them with primary school dinners, which were brought in in large metal canisters. One of the fairly regular offerings were butter beans to accompany a watery mutton stew.

We like butter beans in stews etc. :-D

Can they not be frozen like other veg?

I've never tried of course.

Maggie, yuk ??? They're lovely. :-D

It's all a matter of taste, I know. :-)

...but, if you have an excess of butter beans?

(gags at the thought)

JoyLouise

What a waste of good butter beans, Sharron! ;-)

Speaking as one who likes them, of course. :-D

Evidently I didn't try the tenner off scheme then, but what that has to do with my making sausages I really don't know.

Ah well.

Butter beans that have been through the liquidizer bear about as much resemblance to whole butter beans as sausage meat does to pork.

Just watching a programme about take away premises.
I'm sure some restaurants are just as dirty.

Besides which, I don't/didn't fancy spending money to catch covid.

You should have given the govt tenner off scheme a try. Too late now of course.

It is not like eating butter beans. They have been through the wibbygizzer.
