I looked up the NS&I website a couple of days ago to see if we had won anything on the Premium Bonds August draw.

The didn't have the August results but those for Augustusus.

Another one a few years ago was a notice on a fence threatening a £50 fine on a summery conviction for fly tipping. No mention of any other season.

A while ago ,we were amused to see the labels on pots of herbs in a supermarket..
They informed us that the herbs complimented various dishes.
I would what they said?

Someone on Radio 4 - It wasn't Rev. Richard Coles, it was the other (new) presenter, just pronounced Somerset Maugham's surname as Morgam! :-|

It could be argued they were referring to a 'Somerset Morgan', but how many authors are known by the first name 'Somerset'?

From my gathered-over-the-years knowledge, I can think of a few who'd fit that bill, Linda. :-0 :-D

My local deli, had a sign in the window advertising for a “ part time person”. It didn’t stipulate what they had to be the rest of the time - werewolf, vampire? Who knows!

Fanos fans are going to be a boon to television manufacturers and dealers. I bet they're rubbing their hands in glee. :-D

Why the Ozzies are smashing up their tvs

https://www.theguardian.com/culture/2020/may/13/why-are-australians-smashing-their-tvs-and-what-does-it-have-to-do-with-5g-and-coronavirus

6th sense -tongue at the back of the top teeth
the French cannot pronounce "clothes" it is so funny to hear them try
Most of the English cannot say le cru (crane) or le grenouille (frog)
neither (Arabic) can they say "al dhub" (lizard)

I cannot see why Australians buy a tv in the first place the programming is dire - Neighbours is supposedly quality. Sport you may so. No, they watch that in bars. BBC/ITV have spotted a gap in the market with their new product "BritBox". Most of the classic comedy with an updated version of Spitting Image.

No country gets along very well with covid but Australia is temperamentally, totally unable to cope with it for months on end. Hence the flare ups.

Perhaps I have been watching a tad more telly lately but I can see I'm not the only one who has found more howlers than usual.

I now raise a cheer (or perhaps just a little smile) for anyone who can pronounce the word 'sixth' properly.

SIcth seems to be growing in popularity so much it seems to be overtaking sixth, but I have to say that it irks me a little when news reporters can't even get it right.

Cornish Susie,

I remember something similar happening, albeit verbally, at a place where I worked.

It was coming up to lunch time and my boss turned to me and said, "thank goodness it's nearly time for lunch, I feel ravishing"

I just turned to him and said "Well, you don't do much for me!" and walked away.

He was either cracking on to me or he meant that he was feeling ravenous

:-D :-D

So how should I describe my exposed countenance????

if and when when I finally have a shave...

when Covid took hold I said that I wasn't going to shave until either, it was beaten,

or it beat me, in which case they could burn it off.....

seeing as how it is only 20 something weeks till Christmas....
