I did my regular weekly shop this morning and managed to get most of what I wanted. Plenty of fresh veg, fruit etc. meat and fish, bread, milk, cheese and eggs.. The shop was busier than usual but the things that had sold out were mostly stuff I don't buy. |

we went to our local Waitrose first thing this morning to see a few empty shelfs no loo rolls or kitchen towels , and at first no carrots ,or spuds , or salad greens, until all the girls apart from the ones on the tills began to restock, so in the end we got all we wanted....apart from a nice hot coffee and cheese straw ...the coffee shop was shut ,the girls were needed on the floor to help restock. iris |

We got all we wanted at our small Tesco local store this morning. We went at 0915 and as we started looking they were gradually restocking the shelves, by the time we finished they had filled up quite a few shelves including meat, no eggs though. People seemed to be shopping responsibly but nearly everyone in there was over 60ish. |

We went to Tesco about lunchtime, no eggs and very little milk, very short of veg and no potatoes. Stopped at smaller Sainsburys and got milk, bananas and they had put out some loose new potatoes. Zilch eggs. |

I'm wondering if people are panic buying eggs so they can 'bind' themselves up, in case they can't get enough loo paper? ;-) |

Daughter has just got in, after popping into a Sainsbury's. Just about every fresh food shelf was empty. |

Don't know whether to feel guilty or not but OH and I have just discussed what we might try to buy to see us through. We do a wholesalers card |

Maggie, my friend stocks up two or three times a year at a warehouse where loo rolls are sold in packs of 64. |

JoyLouise, I understand that - but you and I both know some people are just stockpiling for the sake of it! :-( |

Future generations will surely look back with incredulity on this unexpected historical uncertainty - or maybe not. |

Maggie, will your sister's campsite be closed because of the virus? |

In my opinion one of the greedier people around has got to be R Branson. |
