Those lessons were a complete waste of time...especially the times when you were taught how to clean the in-house flat

We didn't have much in the way of domestic or trades/ skills lessons.
When I was in secondary it was the Grammar School system.

We had academic lessons mostly while the secondary modern next door had that type of lessons. I would have much preferred those!

We only did cookery for a very short time when we were in Form 1 (Year 7)

I was at grammar and we had 1 double lesson of needlework and 1 double domestic science a week but I ditched them after 3rd year. :-D

We did cookery and sewing at my grammar school as well. In the 6th form we had a crash course on cooking for ourselves prior to going to Uni or college :-D :-D :-D
