What is Raw DNA data?
Raw DNA data is the data that's generated in the lab from your DNA sample. The AncestryDNA test produces approximately 700,000 pieces of data that we use to calculate your DNA results and match you to others. The data includes SNP (single-nucleotide polymorphism) locations and the genetic code found at SNPs in your DNA. Genetic information is encoded in your DNA as a mixture of four nucleotides indicated by the initials A, T, C, and G. Each SNP has a combination of two alleles that encode your DNA at that location and determine your unique attributes.

Your raw DNA is for your personal use and is intended for genealogical research and general information only. It is not intended to be used for medical or health purposes or for legal proceedings.

Downloading your DNA data will not affect your AncestryDNA ethnicity results, DNA matches, or future updates nor does it include this information. Your DNA data will continue to be available in your AncestryDNA account even after you download your raw DNA data. See the AncestryDNA FAQs for more information about downloading your raw DNA data.

Protecting Your Raw DNA Data
While we protect all of your information in our systems, once you receive the downloaded raw DNA data, that downloaded copy will not be protected by our security measures. When you download your raw DNA data, you assume all risk of storing, securing, and protecting your data.

There is a first cousin, Von but we can't find the link....I think her Tree might be a bit wrong as she has 15% France and I can't see any French connection :-0
