It's paddling Saturday here.

It might be carnival over the weekend going into Green/Clean Monday before it's Lent.

I say might because it's obvious we've had a huge amount of water drop on the island overnight. I heard a couple of storms and am vaguely aware of rain bouncing off the shutters and balcony sometime during the night.

Our car is very wet and standing in a puddle of water - it's in a carport that is usually dry. We are on the bottom of a hill and after rain there's usually some soil in the gutter from the gardens/bondu above. Today the detritus is up to our gate - it looks like a field and someone has lost some biggish pieces of wood - they can come and collect anytime :-D. Looks like enough soil for a garden lying across the road. Limassol is flooded including areas we've never known flood.

Paphos carnival is Saturday, Limassol usually Sunday. Paphos carnival has been postponed for 24 hrs, they are hoping they can clear up in time, Limassol are hopeful that tomorrow can go ahead but will say later today/early tomorrow.

This is in the old town near the sea front of Limassol. We have a friend with a restaurant in this area. :-0

It's just started raining again OH has just asked if I've seen an ark. Going to get my flippers and snorkel out :-S

This morning I had a full English followed by toast and black cherry jam instead of lime and lemon or ginger marmalade. :-)

I am at my usual Saturday morning place - kitchen table, looking at the garden and telly.

I like anything up to about 30/32 but when it got close to 40 it was no fun.

We moved house once when it was 41 and hubby said 'Never again.'

The next time we moved he was in another country!

Huge Yorkshire Puds there - like my mother-in-law used to make.

I buy regular frozen ones and g-f frozen ones for OH. :-D

Not that I can't make them, understand (ha ha - not a patch on mil's) but I ain't making only a couple for myself alone.

I do like James but I'll have to tear myself away in a mo cos we are getting together with sis and b-i-l.

Ooh, almost forget. I had the young un for one day this week and in between other commitments we made a huge delish pavlova - chewy in the middle and loaded with strawbs. It was polished off in one sitting by five of us. :-D

Hope a lot of this water landed in the dams as we've nearly run out of water as we've had 2 dry winters plus millions of tourists.
