Anywhere there was industry in the 18th/19th century had canals. Coal was still being moved from the railway yard in Walsall to the 2 power stations past where I lived until late 1960s that I know to. |

Haven't seen any photos yet but have had 2 v long emails about their trips. Had to laugh as they seem to have got their geography wrong. I did query when about 3 miles north of my birth town had become North Staffordshire. They wrote it was furthest north they got to before going south towards Nottingham. Look where Walsall is, it's West Midlands (it used to be Staffs) and go towards the end of Bloxwich, that's where they were. |
