Off topic (sorry) Why is it that when I applied to the authorities concerning

my eligibility for a Motorbility car I was told I was NOT eligible as I am over 65 ?

I'm 72. What's my age got to do with it ?

The older one gets the more their need of a modified car.

Wonder if Hunt MP could help ? No, they're his rules. :-|

Well, yes, Kense, then we get a party political 'broadcast', not too subtle condescension and dodgy name-calling.
But it won't drive me away
:-D :-D :-D

Caroline

Caroline Report 2 Nov 2017 15:05

Or Monty Python maybe at least that's snake based sort of.

Dermot an interesting job choice for sure, would it allow you enough free time to read the news reports popular and otherwise?

Kense maybe Genes are outsourcing their computers to places like India where's there is it seems no fear of such things, and maybe the recent access problems are down to snakes getting into the wiring?

Kense Report 2 Nov 2017 14:49

I thought this thread was supposed to be about the fear of snakes and spiders, not about trying to drive yet another person away from the GR boards.

I was intending to apply for the lovely job vacated by that naughty minister but I'm too late now.

There is one other one position which caught my eye - Zimbabwe is looking for a new Hangman. The adverts says I must provide my own rope. ;-)

Well, I suppose the title is a tad ambiguous! :-)

I've just read this thread from start to finish and haven't laughed so much for ages. It starts on one subject goes off on a tangent and then off again. It reminded me of what was it The two Ronnies maybe? :-D :-D

Allan amongst others very entertaining :-D

LaGooner Report 2 Nov 2017 13:30

I for one can read and watch Tv so don't need the s**t shoved down my throat all the time :-| :-| :-|. I have a lot of opinions but keep them to myself I don't spout on about them all the time

maggiewinchester

maggiewinchester Report 2 Nov 2017 13:28

...but I'm sure they can look at newspapers, and unless asked for, I'm sure aren't interested in your spin on things.

Despite the entreaties of my many Oz rellies who are involved in business , health care, art and politics I have never been tempted. Not the least is that I do not have the thick skin and love of money above all else needed to prosper there.

Allan is quite right that Oz politics are a three ring circus.

Australian internet is mostly slow, always expensive and increasingly censored.

maggiewinchester

maggiewinchester Report 2 Nov 2017 13:08

No problem, Allan! :-D

So far, off topic and/or patronising posts:

Page 1 - I was informed I read drivel
Page 2 - I was 'helpfully' mansplained to - and called paranoid more than once
Page 3 - I was more or less accused of lying, Brexit was mentioned, and we were all 'enlightened' by half a page of totally irrelevant cutting & pasting from the Times!!

No need to explain yourself - you don't call others' names, and, as this isn't a political forum, party political waffle is inappropriate :-D :-D

Allan

Allan Report 2 Nov 2017 12:53

Maggie, the last few posts have been off topic, but I'd just say that as I left the UK 35 years ago, I have absolutely no right, nor indeed, no interest, in what is happening politically over there.

We are having some interesting political times over here which are an absolute circus, and just as enjoyable :-D :-D

maggiewinchester Report 2 Nov 2017 12:46

Rollo
Presumably, if Allan wanted to know what was going on in UK politics, he would use the internet!
I believe they have it - even over there!

I don't know why you're so thick skinned, Rollo, perhaps you could elucidate?
