I do miss pastry and scones. I love pies and stews with dumplings - all high carb so no more! I'm afraid. I have to be careful in winter I get cold easily/ :-S

How strange :-S

PatinCyprus Report 7 Oct 2017 20:03

Most of the time it's OK I've always prefered savoury food to sweet although certain cakes I make I am very partial. I very rarely bake these days. I've just made the Dundee cake - that's one. Hope it all goes on the night.

Out here in summer you avoid high carb food and drink as it makes you very hot. :-S

I have to keep my average below 6, last 3 month check it was 5.6. I'm not diabetic and only do my blood once a week. It's because my body doesn't break down the carbs properly to sugars and then gets rid of them, either uses them for energy or passing them out. My stupid body starts the process but then stores them :-(. Hence the low carb diet to keep the amount stored to a low level.

That is what OH's was when he found out :-0 down to between 6 and 9 now <3

PatinCyprus

PatinCyprus Report 7 Oct 2017 19:47

Well at least his bloods are OK. A friend's mother insisted she felt awful and kept eating cake and sweets to keep her sugar up as she said she felt faint if it was under 20 - I'm quite serious, that's the figure. She died suddenly last year in her early 60s. :-S
