My mother had all her top teeth taken out because of abscesses apparently- the week before her wedding to my Father at 19 years of age! |

They used to do that in those days. Saved money to take them out. It used to be a wedding present or 21st present to have all the teeth out and false teeth :-S |

She was pretty. She's quite a bit younger than my mum. My mum married 1947 aged 26. She did have a wedding dress as her friend lent her the one she'd married in a few months earlier. No photos exist, they got lost when they moved into their house. :-( |

It was about rationing of clothes - the wedding dress mum wore may have been from parachute silk or more than 2nd hand maybe from before the war. |
