I was working 5 days a week so not too much time off.

I am not a strong swimmer. We were the local morgue and 2 people drown while I was there. That was enough to put me off going in the sea. Enjoyed the social life though. :-D

I wasn't dealing with the bodies. I was working in the medical centre in the dental dept.

In the WRAF I did, I was a dental nurse but my job incorporated a lot more than dental nurses in civvy street do.

I had to do dental sick parade if the dentist was away. See what the problem was and either do a temp filling for lost fillings, do temp re seating of crowns, or if it was something serious get transport to take them to the nearest service dentist or if that was too far arrange emergency treatment in a civvy surgery. Made dental models and wax impressions for dentures and mended dentures when broken.

Never had to have any but you're not alone. I always had a large kidney dish standing by as many felt sick as the impression material hit the soft palate.

No one would have known, always had an area where the patient couldn't see so things like extraction equipment were not seen prior to being used.

The first time I saw someone faint at the sight of a syringe was an American marine, just back from Vietnam. He had to duck to get through the doorway, he was huge. The moment the dentist brought the syringe up out he went. :-S

Too true. In one place the WRAFs were nearly all coming to the dentist. I couldn't believe how many turned up until I thought about it. Guess who had a good looking boss who was in his late 20s. He was however married with 2 children and they didn't know that. :-D
