Really enjoyed tonight's.
I knew most of the places as I went to school in the centre of Manchester and regularly went to plays in the Central library theatre, and knew Salford town hall.
Have played with a band in the Free Trade Hall,so it brought back memories,
I thought that sir Ian Mc Kellan was really moved and appreciated all the information .He seems such a nice fellow.
Hope the others are as good.

It's made me realise how lucky I am to be able to share my findings with siblings, though we haven't anyone as brilliant as Sir Ian's GG grandfather!! :-D
At least I can share the news reports of the ancestors 'coming together' with the law!!

Though I find family politics hilarious.
Gran S, was treasurer of the New Milton Labour Party from 1924, when Gran D married Mr D in 1946 in Cornwall, and they moved to the New Forest so Mr D could take up position as the Conservative Agent for the New Forest, Gran S suddenly decided she also had to become a member of the New Forest Labour Party :-D :-D

Those two ladies were never at family gatherings at the same time - now I know why!!

Such a lovely man. He certainly seemed to enjoy finding
out about his ancestors.

Enjoyed this programme, hope the rest are as good.

Really good show - I love Sir Ian - so natural & such an actor - even when reading through a few lines.

I loved all the stoppits & No really! Felt really sad for him when he said his sister would have loved to have heard about it.

I dont have any of my own family left now to share new discoveries with. My husband is always very interested but its not the same as saying to my mum or great auntie. They would have loved some of the things I found.

He is favourite so far everyone seems to like him.

Also liked him just being called Ian by all who helped him.

What a wonderful surprise for Sir Ian M. So sad that it did not have a happy ending for that particular ancestor though - one of the perils of choosing that profession, as was explained.

Sir Ian came across as a very nice man indeed..

I enjoyed that episode immensely.
